Not so commonly used here. We tend to just tough it out instead ;)

You could also ask the illness to leave you alone. :D I actually treat my illnesses by forgeting about them. Dunno exactly that I forget about them or they get cured by the time I realize I should be...er...ill? 8|

:??

Anyway, weather yesterday here was horrible. A wind came out of nowhere, struck down trees, roofs and I ALMOST skipped my workout!

If you ever get a song on the brain, it can be safely removed by humming the theme of The Pink Panther. It's true. :)

What do you mean it's not allowed? Do you need to see a doctor first to get a prescription before you can buy them? That's what we have to do here in the US.

Wise, antiobiotics shouldn't be used willy-nilly.

And for song stuck in head, the ultimate solution:

Your never gonna get this song out of your head

Sympathize.

Don't hesitate doing what's right for the dog, though. When mine became ill and had lots of pain, I didn't want to keep him alive just for my own sake.

I feel for you on that one Milla. We had to put one of my dogs down about a month ago. He had a 'twisted stomach' which is basically an unexplained 'kink' in the stomach or intestines that causes the animal to bloat and pushes against the lungs so he can't breath. At 15+ years of age, the doctor said it was highly unlikely that he would survive the surgery to fix it. Rather than allow my dear old friend to suffer, we let the doctor send him quietly to whatever lies beyond.

It hurts. It really does. But part of being a loving pet owner is knowing when it's time to end their suffering.

My dog was euthanized today. It got a lot worse during the night. It had, what the vet thought was stomach cancer, and it was having a hard time breathing. It was slowly asphyxiating. I've cried so hard today, and it was the hardest thing I ever did, saying goodbye to her. She was much loved. But she was also suffering and I just couldn't bear that so I'm glad she was put to sleep.

But I can't stop crying..

You made the right decision. A difficult one, but the right one. And there's no shame in crying over the dead dog - even guys are allowed to do that. *gives Mila a long, comforting hug*

Have you considered getting another pooch straight away? For some people this is the best solution while for others it's unimaginable to replace their beloved pet with a new one.
