Re: Heroes IV widescreen on Windows 10

Thanks, Karmakeld.

His problem is exactly the same as mine, even if it's on different systems. Pity there's no real solution to be had. Although on an unrelated note I was happy to read that HoMM IV is his favourite HoMM game as well. :)

Re: Heroes IV widescreen on Windows 10

You probably know it already... it is impossible without gaining game sources from ubi or reverse-engineering of game binaries for many years. Maximum supported resolution is 1280x1024. Stretching is the only possibility. Well...that's exactly what I was asking about above. It's not the only proble...

Heroes IV widescreen on Windows 10

Hey y'all, Long time no see. I've recently dug out HoMM IV, which is my favourite, but have been unable to run it in widescreen mode. Adding xres=1920 yres=1080 after the 'target' path in properties no longer seems to work as it did under Windows 7 (and my laptop won't run that version anyway). Does...

Re: Diablo III

Battle.net says you can play in any region. Have you tried?

Pity you can't play cross-platform, though (have the game for PS3).

I agree Horizon Zero Dawn looks fantastic. I wish it were coming to the PC as well.

But one of my wishes did come true, Dishonored 2 was announced as well. The other thing I was also hoping for was a new Elder Scrolls game, but that probably won't happen for another couple of years.

If you're talking about protecting mainly a hero (Dogwoggle in this case), then I'd go with wimfrit's advice + the point of immortality. Otherwise, have shooters in your army to whittle them down with. I'm thinking specifically of the order faction with their halflings, titans, and also the spellcas...

My memory is a little bit rusty, but here's how I remember it:

Morale decides which troops get to act first.

Positive luck means a troop will receive less damage and vice versa.

Hope this helps and welcome to the forum.

Yes, thanks for that extensive coverage, Avonu. The game definitely has a high amount of appeal for me.

You mentioned the Majesty games as well - would you say those are worth playing as well?

Rayman: Origins is actually a fantastic game, one of the best platformers on the PC in fact. The art style is superb and the amount of polish and care that was put into the game far surpasses the latest Heroes game, though that may not be saying much. ;)

Re: The Choice.

just your thoughts on what you want in the Heroes franchise, and what you think is the best move in the present situation from a publisher's point of view. I think the best move would be to patch up the current game and then sell the brand to another publisher. That's what I really want for the fra...

A little less randomness when leveling up would have been appreciated. What we have now in sterility.

Rather a gross distortion. It's Ubisoft who pulls the strings and dictates the pace - their responsibility.
