You weren't there when he had TIME and a Computer with internet access. Right now, the poor boy has been shoved back into the 19th century with very limited access. When Tar first hit the Round Table, that boy was digging old threads out of the bone yard to find places to post. LOL! It was really cute. And occationally annoying, but always sweet.

What? Kalah is actually giving someone ELSE credit for closing a game? I think I'll faint.

He didn't close it. It mysteriously closed itself, per the end of the story.

100 pages, nearly 1500 posts. Even though I posted there two or three times to get things started, I can't really understand the interest for that "game". Imagine playing that in a real-life party, with each guest adding a word to form a sentence. How hopeless would that be? :D
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Well, for starters, it's how most of the ranks were discovered so far. I think post count was the sole reason to play. It was seriously getting 5-6 posts per minute at its peak. Crazy.

It had a certain charm in trying to post quick enough to avoid editing. That, and that it was a sanctioned way to increase posts counts...

As for closing: Kalah might not have done it, but it was he who said it should be closed at 100 pages (though I think that was for the best, and would probably have suggested it myself if he hadn't).

Rage of Carrots is a discriminating game for all us East Coast USA folks that go to bed and check the boards in the morning to see that 3 pages have flown by and yet when I post I wait two hours for the next word!

But it works great on the Auction game for me :D

Hey, I was up at 3 a.m...

The RotC is more like a tradition than an actual fun game; it's lost its charms long ago, and allowing it to run forever would be a mistake. But then we couldn't open a new forum without strafing by it; it's somethign we just had to do... ;)

Hurrah! At least this time I DID get to play some. Like Gravyluver, there were rarely other people on line when I checked. However, I must admit that the days I found someone here, I did take advantage of the situation.

Actually, for me, it really IS a fun game. It was pretty funny to try to think of where you wanted the sentence to go, then TRY to get the next person to say what you were thinking. They rarely EVER did, which made it funny. Or, at least that's what the appeal was for me. And I think it WOULD be a fun party game. I might bring it up at our next club meeting just for sh!ts and grins.

Don't you feel unstimulated, seeing that nobody but you ever spots those ranks (Vlad's being the proverbial exception)?
