WADA???

And you're welcome winter. :) I don't want to hazard a guess at who will win just yet, but I do rather look forward to finding out. :-D

Me too! My Unnies and I can join the 'sideline' party now that we're officially out of the tournament. Even though I got both the Surcoat of Counterpoise (Magic Aura 10%) and Clover of Fortune (+1 Luck) at the H3 Auction … these Artifacts were obtained too late to help us contend with those fickle dice. :-D

Good luck to the remaining teams.

So now my Unbridled Unnies can relax from practicing & PARTY! Image

The Lucky Leprechauns invite all the eliminated teams to dance the eliminated teams' dance butt-naked in the final to intimidate both teams.

GInfo - Quantum Kumquats, tonight on Channel X

Expert 1: "Who would've thought it, eh, Jim? After three matches and eleven goals scored, they're still completely equal in anything but shots on goal."
Expert 2: "Maybe they could have decided who goes through on the most corner kicks, or offsides."
Expert 1: "Nah."
Expert 2: "Nah."
Expert 1: "So, who's your fave?"
Expert 2: "Well, I gotta say, these newcomers GInfo have impressed me immensely. That they lost against the Atomic Sparrows wasn't a big surprise, but taking six points in Group D with such a defensively oriented team is nothing short of miraculous."
Expert 1: "So, it's odds on for GInfo, then."
Expert 2: "Yeah, well, the Quantum Kumquats have a cooler name, but I fear their attacking lines are going to find trouble against Skortzy and his defenders."
Expert 1: "Well, you said that before they demolished The Snakes 6-1 as well."
Expert 2: "Yeh..."
Expert 1: "So we could actually say that the Kumquats are good against defenders."
Expert 2: "Sure, but..."
Expert 1: "So it's odds on for the Kumquats, then."
Expert 2: "Oh, shut up."
Expert 1: "When's the game on?"
Expert 2: "17:00 GMT."
Expert 1: "What's your bet?"
Expert 2: "A draw."
Expert 1: "A'ight. What happens then?"
Expert 2: "Extra time, and if that doesn't solve it, penalty shootouts."
Expert 1: "But that would mean a huge advantage to the Kumquats, no?"
Expert 2: "Indeed. If they can hold GInfo to a draw that long, it'll be them, no question."

I hadn't planned on posting these rules until the knockout stage, but this is a knock-out match - there must be a winner, so if there's a draw, extra time will be played. If the score is still level, penalty shootouts will commence.

Knock-out stage rules:

Extra time: If the score is level at the end of the match, new stuff happens. New bonuses will be applied, and the dice re-rolled as if a new match was played. This time the dice don't show the number of goals scored, just if you beat your opponent. To win, you have to get a higher score than your opponent, bonuses included. The bonuses count directly to your score, i.e. a team with a Midfielder captain rolling a 4 during extra time, gets –30% to his score, meaning he gets a 3 (rounded up from 2,8). A Forward on the other hand will get a +20%, meaning a 4 will become a 5 (rounded up from 4,8). Ergo extra time between these two each rolling a 4, will see the Forward taking his team to victory.

Penalty shootouts: If the score is still level after extra time, which is fairly rare, the shootouts will commence. Here, the strikers and goalies are kings, with bonuses of 20% and 50%, respectively. In the shootouts, the dice are rolled five times for each team (meaning a total of 10 rolls, with bonuses applied to each roll); once for each kick. Each roll determines which side "wins"; if the home team (red dice) rolls the higher score during his kick, that means he scored. If the away team (blue dice) rolls the higher score, the shot did not end up in the goal. If the score is still level after each team has taken five penalties, sudden death will ensue, and each team take one kick each until we have a winner.

In this case, we have a team with a Defender captain vs a team with a Forward captain. That yields these bonuses:

Defender:
+30% (-30% to opposition's score) when facing a team with a Forward as captain.
-10% on penalty shootouts.

Forward:
-30% (-30% to your score) when facing a team with a Defender as captain.
+20% (+20% to your score) in extra time.
+20% in penalty shootouts.
In War: Resolution, In Defeat: Defiance, In Victory: Magnanimity, In Peace: Goodwill.
