2 days? Man, that's amateur hour. I spent less than two HOURS on the average exam, and that includes the time to take the silly things. :D
that covered me too, cramming FTW!

All my preparation for the subjects of a semester really starts 2 weeks prior to the exams. I rarely attend more than half of them and I don't really pay attention, last year and they are about theoretical stuff that require memorizing - gimme a break.
At least there was one where out professor graded us according to our presence in the previous years and one that required intuition so I may have passed with with zero studying. Oh and one where the supervisors allowed cheating :tongue:
With all the mess around here it's a bad idea to study all subjects and much less memorize the whole books. Reading the 'sos' parts requires less effort and has good chances that you will pass but there isn't really a choice when we get books so late and have hundreds of pages to learn in short notice :disagree:

Hm... how does one end up studying microbiology? It does not sound completely uninteresting.

Pfft... done that a few times... once i even didn't use anything except common sense (of course half the class failed that one because the teacher had atrocious grammar skills, took me 5 minutes to understand one question... which where pretty easy otherwise).

And winterflake is obviously planning to create a supervirus when he's done... so the name of flake will forever live in infamy.

@TT: No, not really. At least I think not...:devious:

@Chai26: Biology freak...no. ;)
I'm more of a science freak in general. :D

@Vel: Well, to answer your question....it's a pretty interesting story, to be honest:

During high school, you have to take the Puerto Rican equivalent of the American SAT exams. When you apply for the tests, you have to choose what universities to send your results to.

Since I've always been fascinated with science, the university of choice was a no-brainer.

WHAT to study was the hard part.

I started eliminating choices:

I like the theory of Chemistry, but not the practice (I don't like mixing chemicals and stuff...)
Physics is pretty cool, but...
I prefer Biology, because that's where all the organismal studies are, and I've always been fascinated with diseases, and those things that cause them (yeah, I'm weird like that :tongue:).

So, I chose Microbiology as my concentration. :)
