Not a huge shock that Ghost Rider left him alone. It would have been quite the abrupt ending. But Hulk certainly doesn't come across as a sympathetic hero. As I said earlier, he's just acting like a bully. I can understand him being ticked off and all, but his actions are just proving the Illumnati right. So he beats them all up, then what? What has he accomplished aside from making himself look like a jerk with anger-issues? And what about Xavier? He wasn't even at the meeting so Hulk rips the mansion apart, injurying all sorts of innocents. Real heroic of the Hulk.

I must admit, I do enjoy seeing Wolverine getting beaten to a pulp. Way too much over-exposure with that guy.

Let's see: Hulk shows up at mansion, asks Hank o let him see X... he's rebuffed, so he pushed/knocks Beast aside, New X-Men jump him, get beaten, then X shows up, Hulk says he has a few questions. X-Men show up, attack Hulk...

Sure, he's one of those passive bullies that let's you pick on him first.

Bah, Prof - X, if he so choose, could nullify the hulk easily. The hulk has beaten some of the best. Thing with him is, direct confrontation mostly equals defeat. As the prof once put it with wolverine...he could have the Hulk thinking he was a 8 year old girl, even have Jean braid the hulk's hair.

Hey, how about helping a former reader get caught up? Like what's gotten into the Hulk? And what makes Ghost Rider a problem (apart from the movie)? And can't Doctor Strange call on mystical forces (like the Hoary Hosts of Hoggoth) that could defeat both GH and Hulk?

And while I've got you here, can you tell me what Jim Starlin is doing now? Warlock and Dreadstar were two of my favorite series.

Seems that Ghost Rider is uber-powerful, only limited by his host, so Strange might have a hard time taking him. And he won't kill the Hulk because he doesn't want to lose his soul... (i'm guessing he means that metaphorically).

And Hulk is too angry for telepaths to subdue.

He didn't have all the power cosmic on PH, if SS didn't have any he'd be a pushover... but the Power Cosmic is Galactus' shtick, and he's pretty much one of the most powerful things in the MU.

I just hate it when somebody decides to actually put superheroes up against one another and display an outcome. It's a fetish, just having to answer that little ten-year-old's question: "Who would win a fight between the Hulk and Superman?"

It depends on who wrote the story, dumbass!!

I once read one where Superman and Batman face off, but they don't actually fight - instead they part amicably. That's the kind of twist I like.

Superhero battles have always been part of the genre, and have often been a natural development of a story line. I agree that mindless slugfests can be tedious, but when the contestants have different powers, there is a tactical element that comes into play. It's not so much who hits hardest, but can the agility of Spider-man match the strength of the Thor. Speaking of which, the Hulk vs Thing battles were big events in Marvel's early days, helping to define the personality of Ben Grimm as he came to realize that he was not the strongest one there is.

So yes, it is the writing. Hero vs. hero stories can be good or bad, depending on how they are worked into the story.
