Yes, *cough cough*, of course *cough*. Sorry, bad cold.

I manage the French localization of enterprise management software. And I recently turned 34.

It could also mean, that he's just keeping his spendings really, really low.
At least in Denmark - and most likely as well in Sweden - the state grants each student an amount every month for studying, if you are 18+ years.

Currently I am studying English at the university(or something like that...who can say for sure really.) And I suppose it's worth noting that I'm 19.

It is interesting to note that we seem to have no 'younguns' around here at the RT; perhaps they're turned off by TBS?(this is a call for old codgers to start ranting. ;) )

Well, I do have pretty good grades, but it's more like what Paulus suggested. I get about 1000 dollars a month, which I have to pay for everything with. At least I'm in engineering. Oh, and school's free, so I don't have to pay to attend.

As you can imagine, I'm on about no sleep right now.
The requirements and proceeding of PhD disputation are very different, but usually once you are allowed to present your work and actually dispute, it is already a ceremony not a serious testing. As they say: "disputation is 2 hours of shame and a degree for entire life". Dunno if it is exactly 2 hours shame in Pennsylvania...

Well I'm 28 and I'm a PhD student and research assistant in Management Science/ Operations Management. Technically I'm a state employee, plus I'm receiving a fellowship. Still it makes a living close to survival limits :(

That makes me envious. Here in Austria we have to pay a tuition fee of nearly 400 bucks per semester. I could accept that, if it would improve our universities' conditions But, na, things always get worse.

At least, you have a place for practicing. :D Especially with people like Vlaad around:

Hey, you can expect a tuition fee of $30,000+ per year for a good American university...
