Guys, you dissapointed me :|
Firstly, a forum poll is pretty much irrelevant before it gathers at least 50 votes.

Secondly, I suggest you open a thread on the Avatar forums: "HoMM3 is great!" with "Hell yeah / Nah..." answers... see how that fairs. ;)

Sooner or later we run into things in life that we find totally awesome, and we can hardly understand why not everybody else shares the same feeling. It's good to enjoy such things for yourself, and together with others who share the same feeling, but it's dangerous to expect everyone else to do the same.

Aside from that, it's also the way the poll is made. "Yes/No" options would have gotten way more positive votes. "Hell yeah" is way stronger than "Yes" and "Nah" is softer than "No". "Hell yeah" is often an answer for fan(atic)s. So it'd be a wonder if you ever gets more than 50% votes asking about a movie on a game forum, or about a game on a movie forum.

And lastly, something has to be really flawless to gather lots of "hell yeah" votes. A big let down for some who have seen/read a lot, is the pretty unoriginal story. Whatever it's not Pocahontas, it's Paul Anderson's "Call Me Joe" (a paraplegic who telepathically connects with an artificially created life form in order to explore an alien planet) or some other movie or science-fiction novel. The 3D, a great asset of the movie, it's in the same time the very reason some rejected the movie, because it was too tiring for the eyes (I even heard of accidents like popping blood vessels & stuff). And then you have the message of the movie, which, as beautiful as it is and in spite of the fact that we're also frakkin' up our planet, there are many who still labeled it as socialist propaganda and whatnot. And finally you've got all the fanatic atheists and fanatic religious guys who were both equally annoyed with the movie. So you see, you'll find at many level people who will not appreciate the movie that much, who will go for "Nah", especially when there's no middle choice.

I for one can't vote for a movie where the protagonist fought in the jungles of Venezuela and then mentions how his planet doesn't have any wild vegetation any more... what, he was fighting the trees and they tripped him and broke his spine?

If you go for resetting the votes to 0, I would completely rephrase it to: "What did you think of Avatar?"
- Awesome
- Great
- Good
- Have seen better
- Haven't seen yet
(or sth like that...)

Oh oh oh, and "Haven't seen it, but judges it as 'orrible nevertheless". A type of category too seldom used and that I often miss :D

I figured it would be too painful for Sure Valla to add such option as well. After all it's still his thread. ;) ...I think.

True,

I like your idea but then:

But Slots:
- Awesome
- Good
- Have seen better
- Haven't seen yet

And reset to 0 please

Thanks

So I guess it's also pretty clear what was your pick. :p :D

@TT: Thanks for the link. That's actually a list I tend to agree with, more than other "best movies ever" lists build up based on other criteria (well, except for Phantom Menace, which doesn't deserve to make any "top20").

@SV: Sth you may like - a complete video of the Red (well, blue) Carpet part at the movie premiere, with short interviews with all actors and other big names behind the movie (some boring parts, but I thought it may interest a fan) ;)

I think it's an OK movie with just tons of effects (good thing I watched it IMAX, don't think will like me better if I watched it at a normal cinema or whatever). Sure, flora and fauna where awesome, but some of the stuff you can see in different variations around Cameron's movies (I'm looking precisely at you helli-like-flying-ships) and some other stuff didn't make sense as well (from where the heck comes that water, that was FLOWING from the FLYING mountains???).

Story wise... a typical Hollywood production, though that the finale was way HAPPY, it was well... concocted (?) and was sweeting like well (loved the way all the animals charged the troops).

The final cadre, however, did not make the impression it should, IMO.
