Progress

Unread postby Big Daddy Jim » 18 Mar 2009, 14:51

We've just completed the first Alpha test of The Chaos Conspiracy with good results. The second Alpha release is due to go to testing in late April, followed by the Beta release in mid-August.

The finalize game is due to be released to the public sometime in November of this year.

FYI ...

Do you need any testers?
My PC is about 5 years old:

AMD Athlon 2500+ Barton
1 GIG ram
256mg video

all other MM series games work well on it.

I may have one opening for an additional Beta tester in August. If you'd be interested, send me a PM.

Thanks for the offer.

Or just help with new idea's?

i'd be glad to help!

Unread postby Big Daddy Jim » 10 Apr 2009, 19:31

The final Alpha Release of The Chaos Conspiracy will go to the Alpha Play Test Group next week. We should be going to Beta Testing in August and the official release will be in November.

Here's a few in-game screen shots of The Chaos Conspiracy.

Big Daddy Jim, those screenshots look fabulous.

Any chance to incorporate the Armsmaster skill to make Knights not suck? :)

As a member of the Chaos Conspiracy Team I would strongly argue against that; though BDJ is the project lead, and the one who would have to do the work; so it's his call. We discussed this is another thread, so we take it there if you want. Let me add, there is no reason to assume that the original designers of the game intended all possible parties to have an equal chance at completion. Knights suck, OK so don’t create a party of all Knights, though some have succeeded, I don’t happen to be one of them. IMHO to add armsmaster skill would throw off the balance of the game. Besides the amount of programming time to add a skill for the benefit of one specialized party seems poor return for the time required.

But Armsmaster was in MM7 and MM8 and people STILL overall preferred the Sorcerer/Necromancer class over the Knight. So it's not overpowered.

But other changes were made as well including limiting the knight's development in other skills, i.e. expert level bow in mm7, but could be master in mm6, this is just one of several skill changes. As I said it is BDJs call, but to keep it balanced adding that skill would necessitate several other changes to keep it balanced. If he wants to do the work, it's for him to decide.

Yes, She is Leeloo - misprinting in spelling. I want to add some pearls and easter eggs to the game that many people knows but will be pleased to see them in MM6.

And I do this videos with SMK tool that convers avi->smk - rather easy.

I downloaded Rev4modR1 and it was tremendous. With this new game in progress I just had to register and say a Big, Big Thank You to BDJ for all the fantastic work you (and the Chaos team!) are doing.

Like so many others I have been a massive fan of VI,VII, and VIII over the years and the number of times I have played M&M VI must be in double figures!

The chance to play a new M&M is, well, magical!

Again, many, many thanks.

I'm glad you liked the MM7 rework!

The MM6 is not a rework, but a brand new game based upon the MM6 game engine and map world. The nine chapter main storyline is now complete and undergoing a final Alpha test. We're on-schedule to go to Beta in August (or earlier) with the complete game.

The TCC Development Team consists of Jeff, Hodge Podge, The Maestro and yours truly. We've all been working very hard on this project and it is comforting to see it rapidly raching its completion.

Stay tuned for more info.
