No initiative? That was one of the biggest steps in H5. (a little too complex but with the proper cosmetics a very good mechanism). Imho its plain stupid to put speed and initiative together.
Again we have plain old face to face battles. Bring some more diversity to initial battlefield placement (read H3 dwarven treasury style)
Morale before creature acts.. that I like actually. It takes morale randomness down a notch.
And like someone said... no more stupid 5 stacks of 1 Creature to cast spells. Make stack numbers count when they cast a spell.

I definitely love that now we can see the movement trail on battlefield! This is such a critical improvement!
On the other hand, I really don't like the fact that the first hero to act will be decided by the first creature to act. They really should randomize who gets to move first, still taking into consideration the initiative. I mean just like H5. They really should not pick the highest initiative creature automatically.
The other thing that just came to mind is that I hope they randomize battles even after save/load. I'm sure you know what I mean. In H5, the same events happen in a battle in the same order if you do the same actions. I'd like to see more randomization in events so the gamers wouldn't be tempted to save/load in order to perfect the battle outcome. It would reward better players and help improve the gameplay expertise in the long run. What do you think?

I believe in science and that science can explain everything.

But really, how many time can you watch them before they simply get in the way... being able to turn them off is always a must.
