Starforce: did you just change your mind?

Ubisoft has just announced it will not use Starforce on its upcoming products, and that includes Heroes of Might and Magic V.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

I wasn't actually sure I was going to buy the game or not, regardless of the SF issue. But now I have another + on the pros/cons list!

I plan to buy an extra copy, one of those special editions for instance, and give the disks to a friend.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

Starforce never entered into my decision. Only if the demo is very good will I consider buying the game.

The program is very controversial, and members have encouraged boycott and demonstrations against games using it, including H5 (see this thread).

Now the news just surfaced that the program will not be used after all.

Vote other

I will now download and try the demo, not sure I'll buy it yet but the probability raised from 0% to something higher. However another important change is that I won't tell my father (who plays Heroes games more than I do) to avoid it at all costs, and I'd say he's very likely to buy it in that case if he likes the game.

Now it's only about the game's quality.

Of course, I'll buy Heroes V now that StarForce won't be included with the game. :-D

*gasp, awe, and assorted emotional paraphernalia* WHAT?! :D

I too was on the verge between buying or not, and the lack of Starforce definitely shifts the odds in favour of buying.

Seriously, I'd play Heroes 5 no matter what, the removal of SF doesn't change anything.
