As some of the more astute of you may have noticed, there aren't many updates on our site nowadays. We're in "between games", as they say, so the producers aren't saying much, the fans aren't saying much... resulting in what I like to call the "slow news day". Basically, there's not much happening, so we have nothing to write about.



The decline in Community activity also means that you guys are less active in sending us material we can use for our "Picture Of The Day" feature. Yeah, that's what that stands for. Now you know. But frankly, these lulls in "between games" are becoming tedious, and that un-updated picture right at the top of the main page is really becoming an eye-sore. With the general slowdown, the "daily" feature went fast from weekly to almost monthly, and we'd really like to prevent it from becoming a "once a year" thing... So, this is an appeal to help us do something about it.



If you're playing a Heroes game, or Might & Magic, and something cool, nice and/or funny happens, press the "print screen" button. Store the image. Send it to us at the address below, there's a good lad.

I remade all the outpost dwellings in H5 to sell only 3rd Tier creatures. The Refuge camp sells mummies, the phoenix, wolves and manticores. And I fixed the Elemental conflux dwelling to sell all 4 elementals. It wasn't that difficult, but if you want a pic of these new dwellings, let me know....

This is merely a symptom of how lethargic and small this community has become, but who can blame the people who have stopped coming? It's not like there is any actual news about Might and Magic, and the majority of the discussions on these 10+ year old games have probably been repeated several times over the course of years.

We would only need a single Heroes VI screenshot to regroup the fans and generate excitement. I remember how we analyzed the first Heroes IV image to death back in 2001. Unfortunately, it seems that the spin-offs (Dark Messiah, Kingdoms and that puzzle game) don't generate as much passion.

I've got several pics here on my desktop that could suite this category but the resolution may not be high enough for an impressing picture of the day.
They deal mostly with my experience playing Heroes III and making new maps to this great game. Some screenshots are about encountered bugs. What do you say Kalah? Should I send some of the pics to the Staff?

I agree with you Angelspit. A single HOMM VI picture would re-energise the community. Heck, even an official announcement that HOMM VI is in the works would probably do so.

Sadly, there won't be any Ubi-days this year, and the bigger fairs like E3 aren't likely to feature something that's only in early stages of development - if that.

Seriously, what? Ubisoft hardly cares about the input of this series fan base. That's why TotE has yet to be rebalanced, Might and Magic X (the real one, not the fan one) will probably not be made, and also why the old NWC world was scrapped in favor of a super generic fantasy universe.

However, Heroes VI is most certainly in development (Heroes V sold quite well), and you can expect the same amount of care that Ubisoft has been giving to the series since they bought it. And then we get to fan-made projects, which are a totally different story...

Right now, I don't think the community cares whether there is a new developer or not, as long as HoMM VI is a good game. (and perhaps a new might and magic game gets made).

It is simple to see through the decades, that there will be a dwindling following of people who play any Heroes game. But the concepts in the game will keep it alive. Fan-based creation unfolds the games' true nature. It will be the end result even if communism fails in this world!

Hmm... from what Babelfish is telling me these are not arts from H6 but general concept arts from Black Hole Entertainment which may be or may be not next HoMM game development.
Just trials of Black Hole art style... but I can be wrong.
