Ubi: Nintendo to Develop Heroes VI

Unread postby Kalah » 01 Apr 2010, 13:22

As we remember, Heroes VI was as good as confirmed back in August 2009, when Romain de Waubert and Erwan le Breton wore jumpers with the inconspicuous Heroes VI logo descreetly printed on them. This has remained the closest thing to an official announcement until today.

This morning, Ubisoft producers released a statement, according to which, the latest instalment in the series, Might & Magic: Heroes VI, will be developed in a co-op effort with Nintendo. This will cause several changes in the overall game design, most of which we can only guess.

Don't feel bad, Kalah, I bought it. :jester:

I'm never alert at all when this day comes, so I'm surprised a lot, which I don't necessarily see as a bad thing. :D

I do hope we get some kind of official announcement this year, though.

Electronic Arts and/or Microsoft may be a good gamble on H6 if we lived in utopia. Hell, there are some great console game companies that made games for Sega back in the 90s that "could" bring back that nostalgia. Two games of interest are Herzog Zwei and Master of Monsters which pre-date Heroes. Nintendo just cannot fathom too many elements in a game, though they did help produce decent RPGs. I remembered last year and was waiting for this thread.

I agree with the others, Nintendo was too obvious. Nice try though :)

And you will have to buy a controller, because mouse won't be supported, right?

On the other hand they really might make a better Heroes game than Nival (not that it would be too hard to be better than them).

Hahaha... Good one Kalah. :)

I admit when I saw the piece of news I forgot it was April 1st yesterday and I was just thinking "it doesn't make sense" as we actually kinda know who's the new dev of H6.

I also liked this one from C_Guy: "Heroes of Might & Magic: Wii" :D

Actually, I find the Wii remote works very nicely for a point-and-click interface. Use the nunchuck for scrolling and you are all set!
