Can't install help please
I dunno what I'm doing wrong.
I have 7 64 bit Windows .
I have put all 8 Win RAR archive files into Update folder in HoMM 3 Complete Edition .
But Installer says that it can not find any *wog install files in that Update folder.
I had woG on Win 98 system before .

I'm trying to get this work through Wine, and it's oddly not working. If I just extract things and run H3WOG.exe, it says that files are missing (although they can't be, because I just installed it), and if I run H3WUPD.EXE (which is terrible), it somehow assumes that H3 is installed into My Documents and not where it is actually installed and won't let me input the correct path...
No idea yet. Just in phase one - downloaded. I will kindly inform you when I advance, it will require some time though.Edwardas 3 wrote:And how did it work for you ?
I have Win7 Pro 64bits, so I kinda assume that it will work for the first try.

@GreatEmerald. Are you running OpenSUSE? I noticed that WINE asumes that the game is installed to documents folder, because WINEPREFIX environment variable isn't set by default.
try creating file named HoMM3.desktop in /home/YourUsername/Desktop with these contents:

Ah, I see, thanks. And yes, I'm using openSUSE.
Now the game launches, but crashes immediately after that:

download and compile binary editor. http://bedlinux.tripod.com/, open the LOD with it (run it from terminal with filename of LOD as a parameter) and rename all entries in table of contents.
