WOW has often been "critisized" for being a hefty time consumer but this is beyond anything I've ever heard of!

Sheesh...the day I blow $3000+ a year on an MMO is the day I die.
Impressive, but oh so sad...

I just reinstalled an old version of Championship Manager... I'm back off the wagon!
It actually doesn't matter that it's an old version; yes, players will be all skewed; many who are famous today don't even exist yet, but if I boot up a low-division team it doesn't really make any difference. Yes, Rooney still plays for Everton, but he won't come to the third division anyway. Then, when (after 5 seasons) I might be "up there" in the PL and on my way to glory, everything will have changed anyway, since there are transfers all over the place.
I think Championship Manager (now Football Manager) is the best manager series ever made, but it's still flawed. Whenever they release a new game, they want to come up with new stuff instead of just re-releasing a game with the same engine, less bugs and an updated database. That way, you never get a game which is properly polished.
