Well good news for you:you have enough force in the begining to take both the first sylvan and the inferno town And thats without reinforcments, and with all the escapees therell be.You must remember one cruical fact:The AI is dumber than you.I managed to beat gilraen in the 3rd mission while he was in town, and had scroll of frenzy, and had a bigger army than me.

AS DL said, in the first week, you should have captured one sylvan town and the inferno. Then it's just a matter of keeping the ball rolling- the enemy has more towns than you, so you must be fast. Trying to build up large armies is a much riskier strategy, as it depends even more on your tactical skills.

You mean what town to attack?Well I went first to the northwestern one than the north eastern one.But that doesnt mean you must take that same path. The last one wont trouble you because its stagnant.
If you want to follow in my steps:take the souther town, reinforce if you can,buy a hero to flag some mines, take the inferno town on day 7 or day 1,swap troops, eradicate the inferno heroes,go up to northwestern town, then after it take the northeastern town.

Why?I had no trouble beating them with just inferno forces.Plus, they dont run from you.Gaidal Cain wrote:The southern one won't allow you to build very far. Going for Inferno is a good idea since you have the skills to help you, but you'll probably need some help from Sylvan forces (hunters and dragons) for the last fight.
A few XP plus a secret pasage to bypass garrisons(which you can beat for some XP if you want). They also give some bonus if you bring 300,I think. The Mad Dragon wrote:What do I get for bringing 100 hunters to the Spectre Dragons?

What difficulty are you playing on? I played on normal and won first time, but I'm not sure this would work on other difficulties. I went straight for the inferno town and just built this up, I took the eastern sylvan town at one point but left it unguarded and built nothing in it and it soon got taken back. But for the most part I completely ignored the sylvan heroes, and went straight for the town you're meant to take. I didn't bother with the spectral dragons' quest, I just killed them and went through.
I had a smaller army than the computer in the final battle, but once they were left with just treants and mana-less sprites, they just defended while I took them out with spells. Very unimpressive AI, and I won first time.

I said I wanted to do it on my own, I didn't say that I could. And I have read the walkthrough and it's proven rather enlightening.fly away wrote:You are the only one saying: "No, I won't read the walkthrough, because I can do it on my own, blah-blah-blah...".The Mad Dragon wrote:I'm not the only one that's been asking, so back off.
