I really like the colors on the harpies. They make the harpies look more like they belong.

also it looks better when it's not in widescreen. Since it stretches the image.

I don't mean to disparage King's Bounty. There are few games that have made me finish them. But I just didn't feel taxed strategically the way I do in HOMMV. You say there are many options on the tactical map, but what I'm saying is that it's never difficult enough to encourage you to use them. Perh...

@Darmani, I was a paladin, which supposedly is balanced between might and magic. (I was also playing at the most difficult setting, which wasn't difficult in the slightest, but I didn't mind, since I wouldn't really have like to played through half the game to find out I'd have to restart because I ...

I don't know what I think about Oliver's comment about the tactic battles being better, though. There's rarely any reason to use more than two or three spells through the whole game in King's Bounty, which was a big disappointment over how awesomely well thought out the spells were in HOMMV. (or eve...

It really does feel more like HOMMV than HOMMV. But it lacks HOMM music....
I guess that means I'll still be buying both series.

Clarifications from Marzhin (!)
My usual strategy in heroes is to race to the enemy and bottle him up in his castle with a secondary hero with lots of troops, while I go around kill neutrals till I hit my level cap. I don't think this will work if the enemy still has resources that can't be taken away. I wonder, will this give the...

"Once you've chosen your character and faction, the game thrusts you right into the middle of action."
What action? I was not thrust into any thing.

I've been playing it for week. I really really tried, but this has to be the dullest game I've ever played. I can't begin to believe there's a whole genre of games like it. Who does this appeal to?

I think Heroes II is the pinnacle. I still get the urge to play it, which I don't with Heroes III -- Heroes V kinda replaces III for me since it is rather similar and yet there's more to do. (I mean in terms of gameplay obviously the Heroes III, Chronicles and IV win on story hands down.) Heroes II ...

In The Worm Ouroboros, by E. R. Eddison, it stood for eternal life, but the immortal characters were all either evil or punished by the gods with immortality.
