When you double click on a stack you should get a close up of the stack. In the lower right corner should be a dismiss button that should dismiss the stack. You can't dismiss the last stack a heroe has.

That is a fun map.
The dragon scale shield is directly in front of the garrison that leads to the dragon farm. From the place where you start on the docks follow straight down the road and you can't miss it.

Hmmmmm. I would disagree that Diablo requires little skill or thinking. Of course if you play a hammerdin there is little need to do much but spam hammers. And multiplyer lets you rely on others.
