Nah.
The great thing about LoM is that it ENDS. Brillantly.
But of course all that is debatable.

I just read how the US version of Life On Mars resolves things - are they completely out of their minds? Or is this just the usual way of soft-laundering everything that might be too disturbing for the US public? The way they did resolve it they could have had the main character simply let wake up f...

Hmm. I'm rather sure that the game will be a success - I enjoyed the first test very much. The game has an astonishing amount of tactical depth and is fun. A DS has two screens, so imagine Puzzle Quest with two battlefields. Imagine further that depending on whether you'd build horizontal or vertica...

Will have it for the last test round over Easter. :)

Actually it's pretty nice - if you can stand a DS and its hazardous screen, that is.

@Jolly joker. That Titan looks amazing! Seem to be a old game but with a very loyal following... some good strategy involved. You seem to play your engaged battles on a another map (?). There's a Valley games edition 2008 - a reprint of the original Avalon Hill title. Looks stunning... I want this!...

I used to play ALOT. Today, though, I play leisure board games. If talking about FANTASY boardgames you have to name this one: http://www.boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/714 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talisman_(board_game) I remember playing it a couple of times, but in my opinion this was too much le...

So your whole point is you have to take fan reactions with a grain of salt? Brillant.

Knowing when a kill will take place, margin of error ~30 seconds... that's kinda predictable. If you think that the kills as such are important in that movie and the knowledge that someone will be killed within the next minute makes the movie predictable you simply didn't understand what the movie ...

It cannot be predictable for a newbie. And that's ho you want everyone to rate. So you contradict yourself. I was a newbie when I watched it. I had watched only 2-3 horrors before. No big deal (I mean real horrors, not splatters :disagree:). If you had only watched 2 or 3 movies, how can something ...

How's that a contradiction? I said that it is sometimes good (the beginning) but THEN it becomes predictable. A newbie will be like "wow this movie is good like they say" (well I was), but then it became predictable and boring later on. It cannot be predictable for a newbie. And that's ho...

Nice little contradiction we have here: Didn't I already said that "negative reviews" suck and are unreliable because most critics rate wrong? They don't rate "how much a newbie would enjoy the movie ", but they rate like **** as if they had been through it and didn't like that i...

But I have to say the first "Salem's Lot" is a pathetic attempt of a movie (I mean actors play, script and everything), but the "remake" (not sure if it has to be called like, after it's been based on Stephen King's book) from 2004 is a kick ass. It really fits perfectly with th...

The Faculty To be honest with you the whole theme was kinda silly, like watching some teen-drama anime with teachers being teh evil or whatever :P That is called IRONY. In some movies it helps, if you don't take them too serious - if the director is Rodriguez it has to be expected - or do you take ...

Good point. In AFI's 10 Top 10, which lists the top 10 in 10 movie categories as voted by some critics, ALIEN is ranked 7. in the SCI-FI category (no Horror available). That same list shows INVASION OF THE BODY SNATCHERS from 1956 on rank 9. Which is why it is interesting to have a look at the movie...

Perhaps it may suck, but don't tell me a surround sound (example of 'quality') has no positive impact on the entertaining value at all... I mean, there's a reason going to the cinema is considered better than just watching it at your TV from the DVD. Cinema is considered more monumental. However, s...

Nah. Just because a newer version may make use of more sophisticated equipment the entertainment value isn't higher PER SE. A movie in technicolor hasn't got a higher entertainment value than a b/w movie BECAUSE of that. If a movie in full technicolor sucks, it sucks, solor or not.

I don't think that Borsuc is right or even has a point. But let's make an experiment. Take Body Snatchers. We have 5 versions with time. 1) Invasion of the Body Snatchers, 1956, Don Siegel 2) Same title, remake, 1978, Philip Kaufman 3) Body Snatchers, 1993, Abel Ferreira 4) The Faculty, 1998, Robert...

Who do you want to convince, Borsuc? Now, the main point is that Alien is not a good HORROR movie (it's kind of a hybrid, technically), but simply a good MOVIE. It has many angles from which to look at it, and it's a flawless effort, as much as something like that can be flawless at all. For the lif...

About Alien... It's a bit more than even Kalah mentioned. It's an "expectation" movie that works best when you don't know the alien, obviously, so after you know the Alien, it's not the same anymore, and only then will you really apprciate camera, lighting, "ship atmosphere" and ...
