Unread postby prowler » 09 Feb 2006, 13:37

Does anyone now what are the best scores of campaigns on heroes 3(restauration, armagedons blade, SOD)?

And, also on the same topic; Does anyone knows how the H3 scoring method works, giving the parameters it uses?

Thanks.

I only know the formula for single scenarios:

Difficulty x (200 - (days+10)/(towns owned+5) + 25 if all enemies defeated + 25 if grail found).

Difficulty:
Impossible=200%
Expert=160%
Hard=130%
Normal=100%
Beginner=80% (not sure on this one)

It's 80% for sure. And I think Campaigns only add the map scores to one another.

I think campaigns avarages the score and multiplies with 5 or something like that. Adding the score together wouldn't be very fair, and I trust NWC to have realized this.

Hmm... just checked and in H4 that's how it does it. Averagex5.

Don't know about H3 coz I don't have a save from a campaign end.

The only one I can remember is the first RoE campaign. I think I had 975 or something. Two weeks for map 1, four days for map 2, and I think five weeks for map 3. The key is to defeat all enemies on each map for the highest score. IIRC, there was no grail in that first campaign.

According to the information posted on the old Astral Wizard's web site it goes like this (quote):

"The score for a particular map is 200 - (time to win in days + 10) / (number of towns captured + 5), plus 25 points for defeating all enemies, plus 25 points for finding the grail. This is -20% for a map played on "easy", +30% for playing on "hard", +60% for playing on "expert", and +100% for playing on "impossible."

Example: you play a 4-map campaign. The times are:

Map 1: Easy, 30 days, 4 towns, beat all enemies = (200 - (30+10)/(4+5) + 25) x 80% = 176
Map 2: Normal, 45 days, 6 towns, beat all enemies = (200 - (45+10)/(6+5) + 25) x 100% = 220
Map 3: Hard, 90 days, 10 towns, didn't beat all enemies = (200 - (90+10)/(10+5)) x 130% = 252
Map 4: Hard, 90 days, 12 towns, beat all enemies = (200 - (90+10)/(12+5) + 25) x 130% = 286

Total score = 934. Average score = 233. Campaign score = 233 x 5 = 1165.

Note that numbers are always rounded down at each step, so it's easy to get slightly different results than what you might expect. For example, (90+10)/(12+5) = 100/17 = 5.88, which is rounded down to 5 before it is subtracted from 225. (source: Gus Smedstad through Maranthea through Quebec Dragon ) [posted on 04/18/2000]"

At the first RoE campaign ("Long Live the Queen") I had 905 last time! And i had stated it after a long time of playing only H4, so I didn't play very well either.
