Ogres should be there, its quite a tradition. Anyone remember good ole black beard Santas in HI? Omg those were the best. Meat shields with a punch, i always found em valuable.

Well the classic HoMM Orc is a shooter.

The shamans and the trolls would be fine shooters IMO(either both,or just one of them).

Shamans would probably be shooter-spellcasters. That is how it must be.

Shamans = Casters. And all non-random Casters in H5 are shooters too. Trolls work better as Regen Tanks.

pit fiends - lords are not,but i think you are right,all the other are and that is kinda boring,maybe ok for few of them to be shooters as well with some sort of magic beams but all of them....

i would say orcs and cyclops would be enough,and ogre mages as casters...the rest should be mighty warriors

maybe tbirds should be able to cast chain lightning once per battle and loose lightning attack if they do ?

Chain lightning would be too powerfull,but call lightning after they strike is ok.

Shaman - Pyromancer (spellcaster)
Troll - Troll Berserker (melee)
Tunderbird - ? (flyer)

Buy the way..in Heroes III,,what was the unuppgraded thunderbird calles(lvl5 right?)

I think they're somehow different. I mean, a thunderbird is not just a roc with lightning abilities. But ok, who cares...

That would be a behemoth cyclops.Cyclops behemoth is an overgrown cyclops with too much body hair
