A user made quick reference guide (not official)
Hopefully it's all up to date as much as possible.

TERMINOLOGY:

HOMM5 or HOMM V or H5 = Heroes of Might and Magic 5

H5std = standard map. Does not require any expansions

FFA = Free For All (meaning maps that don't allow allies)

HOF = Hammers Of Fate (an expansion for H5)

TOTE = Tribes Of The East (an expansion for H5)

Theres the strategy guide for academy, but if you poke around on that site there is a post for each faction.

It's rather outdated though. This one was written after tote came out. There are some interesting factions threads in heroes community but better to check the dates, some are mixed with old and new info. They are listed in the table of contents.
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

At the moment I need some background info.

Can anybody tell me, in the most general sense...
what is Temple of Ashan? A map, part of an expansion,
a mod, other?
