King's Bounty: Legend Coverage?

Unread postby Angelspit » 29 Mar 2007, 14:02

Would you like the new King's Bounty to be added to the games CH covers? That would mean news, screenshots, info pages, walkthroughs, etc. That would require the help of some volunteers though.

Even though it bears the King's Bounty name, until we get more information about it we cannot assume that it falls into the same position.

Note that the adventure map is in real-time, with combat in turn based. This is a great departure from the original turn-based always format.

For now, it should be relegated to the same staus (as far as CH is concerned) as other HoMM-like games (Disciples, Lords of Magic, etc.) and be kept seperate.

I used to play the original KB on Genesis and it was in real-time on the adventure map...

Imho it should be added, King's Bounty, maybe it's not heroes franchise but it's connected to HOMM. King's Bounty was the Heroes precursor, and atm when I'm looking at the screens it seems to be an interesting game, so I voted yes.
We should remember that King's Bouty has many similiar things to HOMM.

Yes. But if it was after me you'd be adding Disciples 3 too. :D

Regarding Disciples 3, I find it difficult and frustrating to cover games developed in Russia: Russian sites get insider info and English sites are left with leftovers. And I have little experience with the Disciples series. For King's Bounty I'd make an exception because of its close relation to HoMM.

Find someone that speaks russian and steal the info on those sites...

As for D3, the devs actually made an english section on their forum, and they usually give info to both language sections. Of course, there hasn't been any new info in a while.....

Vote: Sure, if it’s not too inconvenient.

Sure. The more TBS games the better. But I would like the site to develop into a site that covers all TBS games. Makes reviews, have ladders etc in addition to what we already got.

I was once planning to cover as many fantasy TBS as possible after 3DO died and the future of the series was uncertain (that's why there are news about Disciples and Etherlords in the archives). I also had more free time back then. I'm not sure I can do the same in 2007, at least not without the help of specialists of those games.

Voted yes of course! :-D I saw all 9 screenshots, and I have to say WOW :D . And about Disciples (I played the 2nd and it's ok.) and Etherlords (played both parts) you shouldn't put it in the time being (maybe sometime in the future)

Genesis version of original KB had real time adventure if memory serves.

As for the thread question, it should be on the site, along with the original.

Not many TBS games have as developed fan base as Heroes did. Other than Heroes, the only active I can recall is Civilization series.

Is it really convenient to cover series people care only occasionally in the first place ?

I would like to see updates about this game in the news. It looks interesting enough that I would consider buying it...

it would be good IMO, if you have the time or volunteers to be able to do it properly .... otherwise it's no biggy for me

King's Bounty: Legend is developed in Russia too. :D
But the dev team is very ... humane :), unlike many others.

I can try to keep you informed cause I really like the game and I can personally ask developers to keep me informed. I'm sure they'll do it, especially if I offer them CH's coverage. ;)

I think it would be good to include. Of course, if the game weren't enough of the Heroes spirit in its design, perhaps it would be best not to include it...I suppose I can see it both ways. :libra:
