SaveHeroes.org Opens
Following the various petitions that were started recently, a new Web site has been opened to inform the gaming community about the need to release Heroes of Might and Magic V only when it is complete. A collaborative effort between various fan sites, SaveHeroes.org contains an official petition that you can sign, a description of the current state of the game, and a list of things you can do to support the cause. One of those things is trying out the Heroes V beta, which should be available to all sometimes today, and see if you think the game can be completed in time with all the needed features.

I wish he doesn´t have a cup of coffee in his hand while noticing this. A chance of spilling hot liquid to pants gets too certain..
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

I would "hope" he'd respond positively to it. We are, after all, just trying to give them more time to realize thier own vision of the game. We're not trying to cause trouble or harm anyone. We LOVE the game...we just want them to actually FINISH it.

Perhaps they think they will be able to finish on time? Just a thought, mostly playing the devil's advocate, but they could take this as us breathing down their necks.Sir Charles wrote:I would "hope" he'd respond positively to it. There was a few problems with the confirmations because of the traffic. The emails that bounced will be resent manually. You will be able to sign soon enough. Sorry for the inconvenience.
It's unlikely this will go anywhere. The people who make these deadlines are concerned with the bottom line (and are probably rarely even familiar with the game), and delaying a major title, even for a small amount of time, can mean huge financial losses. These companies depend on sometimes a mere handful of major titles a year and cannot afford to delay them. Getting the game out is really more important than fixing every last problem in the software. That's why patches were invented.

Of course we care ! The salvation of Heroes 5 is the most important for all of us. In fact, I will chain myself to the next pylon and start the hunger strike as a sign of my outrage and protest. I will yell all night : " SAAAAAAAVE HEEEEEROES FIIIIIVE ! SAAAAAAAVE HEEEEEROES FIIIIIVE ! SAAAAAAAAAAVE IT !!! " This will teach Nival a lesson!

Hopefully with pleasure and understand the need to do it right this time.
They have us "big fan" in their hand, but even if we are many they need the masses.
After HoMM4 I think they need the aproval of the fans to reach the masses or all will be a flop.
Look forward to play it.....but HoMM4 have learned me not to rush:)

Thy Brilliance thinketh that these are Nival engineers who decide deadlines? And that pupils in schools decide how many days they have for finishing their homework? Well, if Thy Brilliance saith so, it true must be. Or thou meanth something else?Veldrynus wrote: I will yell all night : " SAAAAAAAVE HEEEEEROES FIIIIIVE ! SAAAAAAAVE HEEEEEROES FIIIIIVE ! Mod Note: This thread is meant for discussing saveheroes.org and things related to that. News of the open beta being available for download isn't. Use this thread for that.

Well, I think it's good that we voice this important subject to Fabrice and all of Ubisoft. While it may be considered 'breathing down their necks', I don't think Ubi can take it in a bad way. What will they do, publish it early and incomplete just because we asked them not to? No, I think they will see this message and I hope they respond well. I have much respect for 3DO, but Ubi......DON'T PULL A 3DO!!!!
Ubisoft/Nival, just needs to get the game finished. I can't agree with you Corribus, unfortunately, about just getting the game out being more important then finishing it before publishing it. Yes, patches can help fix bugs, but gaming companies shouldn't use that as a crutch to lean on. And as they say, the first impression is always the most important, and if people buy this game out of curiosity, and then find they have to download patches just to play it, they probably won't even bother. For example, Heroes 4 was a good game. And, in the manual that comes with the game, read one of the first pages. Somewhere there it says that Heroes 4 was the game that the head of 3DO always wanted to make. But the sad part is, the game that they made wasn't even complete when they released it. I got it, and it didn't even have multiplayer! Yes, there is a patch for that, but that's besides the point. So the game of their dreams was released incomplete, the expansions were lacking, and it was the last game of their career. Isn't that sorta sad? Now we are looking to Ubisoft to fix this up, and doing something the 3DO did that ruined their business wouldn't be wise to do.
