Might and Magic and Monies

Unread postby Angelspit » 23 Jan 2007, 20:34

<a href="/http://biz.gamedaily.com/industry/featu ... meDaily reports that the holiday season has been good to Ubisoft, since its "third-quarter sales rose 24 percent year-on-year," up to 311 million euros. The publisher praises the performance of new titles such as Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas, Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Double Agent and Red Steel, as well as titles from the first half. It also notes that three new brands launched in 2006, Red Steel, Dark Messiah Might and Magic and Heroes of Might and Magic V, sold a combined 1.9 million units. In 2006, Ubisoft was the 2nd independant publisher in Europe and the fifth in the United States.

My hopes for a MM X just rose considerably :)

Are there any sales figures about Heroes V and Dark Messiah separately?

It is good news that Ubi is doing well.

We know we have another expansion for HOMM5 in the works and hopefully they will start work on Might and Magic game as well.

I've been writing about 3DO/Ubisoft quarter results for years. And this one is special because there is a reference to Might and Magic. It also provides a vague idea of how many games were sold last year.

I guess the incorrect 'monies' instead of 'money' is on purpose

on topic: too bad they are making profit selling games I don't enjoy, even H5 is still far from it

I could be also that Red Steel sold 1.5 million units while H5 and Dark Messiah got the rest. While I know approximate figures how much units did H5 sell, I'm very curious about Dark Messiah.

Why don't you tell the rest of us how many copies HOMM V sold? I would certainly be interested! I hope the franchise does well, so that we see more expansions for the HOMM V. I have enjoyed the current expansion look forward to more!

IIRC few months before the release of Hammers of Fate Heroes V had already 350k copies sold. I might be wrong but I think Heroes III in total sold 500k copies but someone might correct me.

Most of my friends, and the friends of their friends, and new friends, from different aspects of gaming- all I know have played HoMMIII. I am surprised it hasn't sold more than 500k units
