Inferno Hero Bios

Unread postby Angelspit » 28 Feb 2006, 18:55

Another week, another batch of hero artwork and biograhies! This time, the Inferno faction is in the spotlight on the <a href="/http://www.mightandmagic.com/us/">U.S. side of the official site</a>:

<center><img src="/http://www.mightandmagic.com/ss/Inf_Veyer_s.jpg">  <img src="/http://www.mightandmagic.com/ss/Inf_Bia ... "></center>

The biographies are a bit formulaic, but the artwork is very detailed and beautiful. Let's hope the maps and campaigns will allow us to learn more about the inhabitants of the new Might and Magic universe.

"indefatigability" ??? now there's an easy to say word.

And how exactly does a Succubus infiltrate other races? You'd think the fact that she's on fire would tip them off.

Maybe by using the "ample natural gifts" as distraction? :D

Nice drawings, one cannot say anything else. But biography is a bit short and not really telling us anything about the heroes. Now the last but not the least, the best is always for the end, and I hope that it will be like that in this case too. Can't wait to see the Necromancers... :)

MORANNON, is that laser-braces, or a dentist-X-ray-analysis in your avatar's mouth?

Pretty generic portraits, and extremely generic biographies. It seems the inferno won't be anything more than a bunch of pyromaniacs who run around killing things. I hoped they would at least have some depth to them. But then again, the heroes aren't everything. If there is a good campaign story, it won't be too bad.

Excellent graphics, as I've come to expect from these people. The bios are the same as the others; basic and unimaginative. Still, that's not a big thing and shouldn't be a priority.

I think it is perhaps a tad...to much? Most of the heroes of the different factions look too much alike? Perhaps it is like, "you know a knight/elf/necro/inferno/wizard when you see one..."

Well the idea is to make races more unified.I think cloning is the best way to unify them

The idea of a unified race is a good one until you try to force others that does not agree with you to be in that union? What unifies the humans for instance? That they never agree with one another???

All the 171 halberdiers look strangely similar, though... Are all the units cloned?

Of Course:

Most people have gotten tired of seeing this, but it's relevant.

In any case, about the similarity of the heroes of each race, first of all I do think the developers are going overboard with making each race look alike. The first three elven heroes, for instance, could have been twins, just like the demon heroes we see here. If I'm not mistaken two of the haven heroes actually are related. Now, this is a whole knew world after all, so the races haven't had any time to breed with each other, so they all have pure bloodlines. While it sounds a little ad hoc, well... it is a little ad hoc. In any case, I would dearly like to see some more diversity, maybe by altering their appearances a bit more. It is quite surprising to see the heroes all be so similar. They will look exactly alike on the adventure map anyway, but their portaits should be what they are really identified by. The matter of the units, on the other hand, is fine. The fact that there are upgrades adds enough differences, at least 2 types of genies is better than 1 type like in h4. Beyond that diversity in units is impossible and not necessary, so theres no point discussing it.

The heroes should look more different, though, I would say.
Happy Millenium!
