My M&M Assets repacked & reuploaded (updated genie + old MMX characters)

You are free to use and edit any and all of my M&M assets/changes/whateverthehecks in your own MM modding endeavors :creative: If something isn't made by me, it's noted in the link description. I don't know what the etiquette/rules here are about repurposing old MM projects assets, so if you want to include them in a public mod, ask someone who does know.

DISCLAIMER: I'm intending to reorganize and refurbish all of this junk at some point or another, because every now and then people slide into my DMs asking what the heck and where the heck. But since all I have is a grand ole mess, it might take a while/never be done :disagree:

~~CHARACTERS~~

Here are all the portraits and paperdolls I've made.

MM6 Angel & Genie. They require you to manually rename the files to replace whichever character you'd like replaced. Use MMArchive to view the icons.lod and check files starting with "girl":

MM7 Characters. These are ready to drag-and-drop, unless you'd like to change which character will be replaced. By default the angel replaces a female elf and the genie replaces a female goblin. The others are edits of existing MM7 characters and they replace their respective originals. You can pick and choose whichever you want to use.

MM8 Characters. These, too, are ready to drag and drop, but can be renamed. By default, the genie replaces a necromancer and the angel replaces a dark elf. The others are edits which replace their originals. Each folder has 2 body variants, one vanilla, one a lil skimpy. Pick whichever your morals permit :devious:
The genie also has a swirly variant, obviously the items won't look great on it, but hey, it's there for you to look silly! The angel has a winged body variant, but it absolutely does not fit and it's only there in case someone wanted to make it fit. Gl hf :tongue:

MMX Characters and Items. Here are the possibly useable assets from the old, old MMX project. I don't know who the author of them is - most of them were made by a fellow going by the name of Vector, but something was also a contribution of another member of the team. I don't want these to disappear from the community, so I'm uploading them here, with this disclaimer. Some characters are incomplete (missing the body sprite) while the Jackal is missing both the body and some portraits.

I had issues with some of Maestro's graphics, the runes looked pretty mucky and near invisible for me for whatever reason, so I redid them into something else. If anyone else would have similar issue, here's what I used instead:

~~FISHY BITMAPS~~

Like I've mentioned earlier, these probably need to have some palettes extracted from and saved. I *think* MM8 ones might have proper palettes attached since I vaguely remember cleaning that stuff up. The ones in Merge Convergence are clean, but I'm not sure they would work out of the box with regular MM8.

This is lovely work.

On a related note, how are your audio editing skills? If one could replace "It's just a cut, but I need it fixed!" with some agonized scream of absolute despair, I think I'd be a happy man. :)

Yes, angel and genie are the same as in the mod, I just packed them separately here. I'm sorry but I will not be redoing any more portraits for a good while, no time. Just wanted to finish these two I posted :) But you can give it a go yourself, it can be pretty fun!

Bandobras, I've never changed any MM sound files. I think it's a more complicated business than the icons.

OK. I see you like it and I suggest only. You modded the same portrait second time and I think better is try another one. You do what you want.

Sure thing :) I changed that one, because I realized what I didn't like about it, but it was faster the 2nd time obviously :) I wanted to change one from MM8, the cleric with grayish skin and rather fine face, but I'm too lazy for that atm :P I also want at some point to change the angel a bit so she's less 100% Cauri with changed colors.

Goblins are green. I really don't like that, makes me think of rotten vegetables. I use my genie as a goblin when I play xD

Yes in MMVIII clerics and knights especialy women faces needs modding. And in MMVI you can mod too. Because are some faded. Like vampires.

Hey, first off; these are awesome, I can't believe this isn't getting more attention.... well, for a game that's older than me it makes sense... lol. Second (if anyone is still around to answer) what's the best way to get the .pcx files into the game? I've only been using MM7EDIT because I have no idea what I'm doing and it doesn't want to import .pcx, and I feel like it's probably needed so that the main interface doesn't look terrible.

I've been looking around and can't find any answers pertaining to MM7, so it would be very much appreciated if someone could point me in the right direction, plus then the next person who rolls by here in 3 years can figure it out too. ;p

All .pcx are stored in .lod archives in DATA folder of your game (i believe, in "Icons.lod"), put new .pcx there replacing existing.
