News  → Celestial Heavens Under New Management

Today, Angelspit officially transferred ownership of the Celestial Heavens site to yours truly – Kalah.

Angelspit is considered the founder of the site in its current form, firmly established at Forumplanet in 2001 and brought to its own home at the end of 2005. Now, after 10 years, our friendly Canadian orc has retired to focus on his real job, family life, and his original love: news.

So, what’s going to change? Hopefully, not that much. This has been an incremental process going on for some time; Angelspit has been reducing his responsibility since late 2008, and I have slowly but steadily been taking over the reigns. Technically, I’ll own the site, but to me, Angelspit is Celestial Heavens – and I don’t see that changing even if it is my name on the front door. Probability is that he will still be around, popping in from time to time, writing news articles or general comments. I don’t think we’ve heard the last from him. Heroes live forever.

We are looking for some more people, though. With the upcoming release of Heroes VI, Celestial Heavens will need volunteers to help with walkthroughs, programming, forum stuff and writing articles – so if you have some time on your hands and feel that your skills can contribute to the Community, please get in touch.

Yeah, it's the management scaring the idiots away...

And they made TEEMAY leave... i'm still not over that.

Regardless, the board still remains as the best managed board I frequent and I am very happy about that. :applause:
Yep, I'll 2nd that. You're doing a fine job Kalah. :)

And we're all happy that Angelspit comes around here quite often to impart his wisdom and wit. :)

Well it is of course easier to pop by the forum and chat with other fans when you no longer have to administer the thing. And AS is till lurking in the wings, posting the odd news story and answering questions, btu I definitely see the benefits of enjoying the series as "just" a fan. :)

@OliverFA

Actually AS has been more active on the boards then before after the switch (of course considering how little he posted before i see why people barely notice him posting).

I just learned of this today. Celestial Heavens has always been for me the site of reference for news and find such a great concentration of people and map maker section. Big thanks to Angelspit for everything you have done all these years.
I may be able to help contribute when Heroes VI is released.
I also run 3 servers and would donate space to map and mod makers to place items. ( images etc. )

Kalah good luck and best wishes. If you need $$$ to help keep this place going I would donate a few dollars.. I have used Celestial Heavens for years. Although I really miss Elrath.com and wish he would have offered anyone the files for dnload on any server.

I just learned today. But I hope that Angelspit is still around to read this. Thanks for managing the site all those years. You did a really good work!

Wow! I just learned of this today. (A day late and a dollar short.) Hopefully Christian will still come around and entertain us with his presence once in a while. Good luck to you Kalah, and I hope everything not only stays the same, but gets better. For that's what CH has been to me. Only better every year.

And now i can blame it exclusively on Kalah... you know, this might not be that bad.

While HC is the main forum I visit, Celestial Heavens is simply the true Might and Magic fan's hideout, and I can't thank the two of you enough for all the work you've put into it over the last decade. You're heroes ;)

(And I know firsthand that Kalah's got this site at heart and beyond, so don't worry about him rising to the challenge :hoo:)

Angelspit, many thanks for building this place and for all that you have done to have it grow to what we have here today. Enjoy your "retirement" - if I can call it like this - that is enjoy spending more time with your family and your other hobbies, whatever they may be (we all love M&M, but variation is still healthier than addiction). ;) I fully understand your desire to be able to enjoy Heroes VI as a regular fan. I know (some of) the things you had to deal with few years ago around the release of H5, and I wouldn't have liked to be in your shoes (and I wasn't around when H4 came out to know how that went in regards to 3DO's relation with the community). Thanks again and I'm looking forward to read future articles from you, as well as interact on occasions as fellow community members. :)

Kalah, congratulations on your new title. Enjoy the benefits (if any :p) and good luck with the challenges ahead. :)

Hey AS, maybe now you'll have more time to actually post on the forums...

NEVER...

Man, Gamespy used to be awesome... IGN pretty much destroyed it.

I am sorry to see you go Angelspit. For me, you were always at the heart of the HOMM community embodying the best of its spirit and pointing the way. But I understand the call of family and The Real World. It takes balance.

Kalah, thank you so much all you've done and thank you for carrying on with this site. You are a Hero in every sense of the word. Plus 5 luck to you.

Thank you for your hard work over all these years Angelspit. Celestial Heavens has always been for me the site of reference for news, specially in the old times when I first started to surf the web in search of information of this great franchise.
It was great to read news in almost a daily basis and find such a great concentration of people, maps, reviews, etc.
And big part of it was thanks to you.

I wish you the best of luck, and hope you can enjoy H6 as you and all of us did with H3 :)

Kalah congrats for you new title and keep up the good work. The bar is set quite high but I'm sure you'll be able to keep it.

Angelspit at 2011-03-07 15:53 wrote:
Thanks for the kind words everyone! I'm not going very far, it's just that I want to enjoy Heroes VI as a regular fan, just like I did with Heroes III twelve years ago. I will hopefully keep writing news, and I also plan to cover Clash of Heroes when (if...) it is released for consoles. I'd also like to revisit Dark Messiah at some point this year, maybe on the Xbox this time.

Every Web site needs a good succession plan and I couldn't dream of a better candidate than Kalah. He's been active on a daily basis since, well, forever. I sleep better now knowing that my baby is in good hands (okay, that last part sounded creepy...).

I may be able to help contribute when Heroes VI is released. The computer that I used to do my previous work for the site has been relocated and repurposed unfortunately.
However, if I have the time, I may put the workbench back together, so to speak, and help out if no one else steps up to the challenge.

I'm deeply sad to see Angelspit taking a leave, and I wish the best of luck to him. Again, thank you Angelspit for your efforts, your time and your love that you put in this beautiful site!
Kalah, congratulations! :) I couldn't think of anyone else to take over this responsibility, which comes with pride and burden. You're a talented and creative writer, and you know your stuff in might and magic, among other things. I'm sure you'll do great and I'm looking forward to seeing Celestial Heavens thrive in your hands!
