News  → UbiSoft Set To Reveal New Titles

Today, on May 7th, UbiSoft announced the date of their E3 press conference: June 1st at 5 pm (doors open at 4 pm), in the Los Angeles Theatre.

The press conference is by invitation only - to Ubisoft partners, investors, retailers and select media - but if you're sufficiently curious, you can view it online the following morning at http://www.ubi.com.

But now for the exciting bit: During the press conference, UbiSoft will unveil their game line-up for the Holiday 2009 and beyond. Skipping over the games we're not too interested in (Rabbids Go Home, Red Steel 2 and Assassin’s Creed 2), the press release also says they will announce "other unannounced titles".

What does this mean? Can we hope for a bit of a Heroes VI tease at last? Anything? Or perhaps something related? Fingers crossed...

Edit: it appears that the Nintendo DS title is called Might and Magic: Clash of Heroes, according to this report.

JSE; Good points. I agree also with Astral76minor that we should 'support' the other TBS games coming out. I have played nearly all to the Heroes (missed out on I) and these are my favorite games by far. While any Heroe's games that come out I feel is GOOD; because the series doesn't die and occasionally even a blind squirrel finds a nut. So sometimes good ideas/features can come out of a not so perfect game. But the patients, patients, patients seems like all we ever tell one another. Is it possible that the long wait time is to see what other developers have brought to the table with their games? This might add a bit of 'inspired' addition/change to Ubisofts plans? Improving on the bar level set by the new games released before Heroes VI? Or more wishful thinking?

I would not say that this is hell for the future of TBS games. We have other games to play. I do not know who you'd thank, but there are still some "other" TBS games coming out of the woodwork and that means hope for Heroes 6. In the meantime, let us play some other games besides Heroes while we wait for the truth. Loyalty towards Heroes is understood, but not playing other games which are similar is like throwing a candle to the wind. We can wait, and the longer we wait, the game of Heroes 6 could be more than we expected.

The world is always running from time.

Exactly, sir dabbler. If the fans know that something *is* on the horizon, this can only be a good thing (for the Heroes series and for Ubisoft). Marketing-wise, the only problem could be seen in the revealing of too many details -- which can lead to speculation. Informing the fans, however, that the series will likely be continued, simply cannot backfire.

As this is pretty much common sense, we can assume that Ubisoft is aware of it as well. So, the reason for not informing the fans probably is that they have not yet decided whether and how to continue Heroes.

For once, though, I don't see this as a bad sign: Heroes V was not exactly an inspired attempt and definitely not the sequel I was hoping for. A reconsideration of design, development, and production concepts might do the series some good -- the most important issue being for me the possible re-hiring of original New World Computing personnel (no surprise here ;)).

The lack of comunication from them is just wierd. Wouldn't it make be in their best interest to at least let the fans know that it's on the back burner but it's going to happen in the future? Were not a bunch of mushrooms. Well, most of us.

Well hey, we waited four years for Heroes V to show up, and that was when there was no hope of future games thanks to dead publishers. I think the community can do it again. Also, Heroes V broke sales expectations as I recall, so no reason to throw the franchise aside.

Seriously guys, seriously : I reckon UbiSoft are going to focus on the games that are forthcoming, and most notably their biggest titles. If there's no mention of HoMM 6 at this point, the reason is probably that they don't have anything to say. I can flat-out guarantee you that this would not mean that Ubi have decided not to continue the series. That's just not how business works.

You can't be serious...

They always say 'no news is good news' in this case it could be a death sentence for homm VI if nothing is announced. Fingers crossed we hear something.

nah....the game is fine like it is now....lets just hope we'll have some good news about homm6

What about any NEW patches for H5 ToE? Ubi got us on that game. I suppose it is over now.... They could have improved the AI.

The "Elemental - War of Magic" Beta is scheduled for June. This game is similar to Heroes. It may have up to 12 factions and it is TBS. Does anyone else know of other new TBS games?

You're pretty desperate for news items, aren't you Kalah? :)
We've always tried to dig up potential insider info. Sometimes it's just rumors and wishful thinking, but other times we end learning about a game even before it is announced.

But Clash of Heroes hasn't been officially announced yet.
That's strange because the report suggests the game might come out soon.

I want to stress that the press release said "UNANNOUNCED titles". That could mean games we've already heard about being officially announced, but it could also mean talk about games we haven't heard of before.

The News of a M&M for a Nintendo handheld is a long year wish of me coming true. And I hope - you can hang me if you get me ;) - it is a round based tactical game (Heroes-style) and no M&M RPG.

I would rather some developer spend at least 3-4 years making a really good game instead of a mediocre 1-2 year game. This happened before. Once the hint is revealed, I suspect it is all going down the bowl. Ubi Billions, that should be the name. And they should make a TV show, so we can laugh at their money.

JSE at 2009-05-07 23:36 wrote:
So you're not speaking about the fan-made M&M X (not MMT, the other one)? If you are not, what should be Ubisoft's point in remaining silent about it? Fans looking forward to a new game in their favourite series can only be a good thing.

Yep, Heroes VI is certainly a possibility. Then again, Might and Magic X is also a possibility (that will never happen).

MMX is already beeing worked on. I just cannot say anything, dahm you Ubi, and your millions to keep my mouth shut...

Yeah but if that's all after (what was it... 2 years?) so long... it's a little weak

they'll probably announce something soon (tm) :devious:

Of course there'll be something. Namely in the document's last page.

Since when did I become the entire community's head of rumour-monging? :disagree: :P
