When Heroes IV engineering goes wrong. I don't know who thought that building a town on top of a bridge was a good idea! (Submitted by Psychobabble)

I remember playing that map. Don't remember the name of it. I had to reload and group my army tightly in order to be able to complete the battle too. And no, none of the units over water can move. Including the player's. Very strange. lol.
The town is not on the bridge. You have to use the bridge to get to it though, and that's how the battle shows up.

well, I experienced the same scene, with genies floating over the water, but in a garrison, not in a castle. (most probably in one of the expansion campaigns. I could be the death campaign of the gathering storm.)
the floating troops could not move. you could not displace or attack them, either. I remember having used "plague spell" in order to defeat the genies, but against magic resistant ballista I dont know what to do!

Interesting to get the inside story on that, thanks Sermil!

I've seen it... It was a known bug in H4, but we marked "Not goin' to be fixed" because we didn't have the time and the mapmakers "shouldn't do that".
