It seems that it's not only Ubisoft that has attracted acquisition interest from a big corporate company. Ener1 Group: a privately held 'diversified technology investment holding company' has today snapped up Russia's largest video games developer, Nival Interactive: the new developer of the forthcoming HOMM title. To the layman (and that includes me, of course), the name might conjure images of fatcat investors more interested in money spinning than making games.
Ener1 Group's interests are indeed 'diversified', ranging from telecomminications to high energy batteries, so it shouldn't be much of a surprise that they're upscaling their video games operations. Read the full press release on the Nival Interactive Website.
