Player Tavern

Welcome to the Player Tavern! Here you can find allies and opponets for games, or you can sit around the fire and share stories.

Message Boards

The Heroes of Might and Magic Forums is a newly created message board for talking about news, strategy, mapmaking, and there's even a Macintosh section. However, we are hoping to come up with a better name someday...

Heroes Community is a Heroes message board site where you can participate in discussions on strategy, towns, Heroes IV, and many other things. Plus the moderators are real cool. :)

3DO Community has message boards for most of their games, including a message board for the Heroes of Might and Magic series. Sometimes 3DO employees will pop in to answer questions for a while.

Mailing list

The mac-homm mailing list is a place for Mac users to set up games, discuss tech-support issues, and other stuff related to the Heroes of Might and Magic series. You can join by sending e-mail to:
mac-homm-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

Heroic Deeds

This is for all the brave heroes out there who wish to share their experiences with others. Click on the crossed swords to see this hero's story.

November 2, 2000 - XeoniteDog takes on 134 Gold Dragons with a relatively small army.

If you have anything you'd like to share with others, feel free to e-mail me your screenshots and story.

Macintosh Player List

The Macintosh Player List was started around the time that Heroes III was released for Mac (December/January 2000) because the Macintosh and Windows versions of Heroes III, sadly, are not network compatible. That makes it a bit tough to find people to play the game with, so the list was created to allow Mac users to find other Mac users to play games online.

Code of Honour

Be a good sport and be considerate of other players:

  • Don't start games you know you can't finish
  • Try to finish your turns as quickly as possible or agree on a time limit
  • If you know you will lose, don't just quit, offer surrender instead

Here's some ideas to keep turn legnths shorter:

  • Set your combat and adventure map movement speeds to medium or higher
  • Plan your next turn while others are taking theirs
  • The timer doesn't count during battles, so don't be afraid to use a timelimit
