Now I just have to figure out the rules of this game. :D Right now it's impossible to get these cards anywhere, maybe with very good luck at E-bay.

Know a little, but not much about tarot. The person wanting the reading should do the cutting of the deck. Not sure of the layout, but each card has two meanings depending on if they turn out upside down or 'normal'. Either way can also mean different things.

Lets take the death card. If it is right side up it could mean the end of something and not just 'death'. Upside down it could be the beginning of something or even a birth in the future.

At one time I knew each card, what it stood for, and such. Been a long time though. The Fool is my favorite. For fortune smiles on the innocent (or crazy).

So according to it being face up or face down a card can mean the opposite?Or that's just for Death?
I, for one, am dying to find out what colour they paint Michael's toenails.

Ah, didn't know that some verions of the deck had a Popess, the one in your picture is commonly known as High Priestess.

it used to be Popess, it changed into Priestess quite lately (20. century maybe). im just a bit into the occult and small religions stuff.

from what i have read, when the card is upside down, it has the same meaning, but it is hindered somhow.

death = change
inverted death = interfered/hindered/stopped change

tower = destruction
inverted tower = unsucessful destruction

etc with all other cards.

Why do they have to make a trading card game or whatever for HV? It didn't work for HIV.

All the cards have two meanings. And not face up/face down (they have to be turned face up) but rightside up or upside down so the death card would be standing on it's head to be upside down :). Please note there are many Tarot varieties and some even place different meanings on the cards. Also Tarot can be for pure entertainment..and should be. There are many unexplained things, and I won't get into a debate if Tarot is real or not. In my experience it is as real as you make it (think of it like mind over matter). Always buy a new or unused deck if getting into Tarot..because the person before may have influenced a used deck (again if you don't believe in it fine :), I personally have had a few bad and good experiences I won't delve into).

There are various ways of using a tarot deck, depending on what you want to find out. Also, AFAIK, most of these methods don't really show you the future (as traditionally thought...), they tend to tell you more about your current situation and what you could do about it.
