There Ain't No Such Thing As A Proper Localization. (Yet, al teast.)
Take Rurewamp22.6.18 from Maslyonok, rename y1Loc_RU.T.lod into n1Loc_RU.T.lod and also put updated texts into Data.
(Statistics: 16270 translated messages, 432 fuzzy translations, 112 untranslated messages.)

Just thought i'd mention this. A tabletop HoMM game is coming out, and it's based in Enroth. Looks like Ubisoft is going back to Enroth.

It reads more like they're working on converting the Heroes games to tabletop. Doesn't feel like MMMerge had anything to do with it (given Heroes 3 is the most resold Heroes game this probably would have happened even without Ubisoft running the franchise into the ground)

Hi,

I started with mm7 world, with cleric and a wizard both in my party (i've only played MM8 multiple times so far, but never any other installment). I was under impression that wizard was counterpart to the cleric (meaning wizard is more or less dark and cleric more or less light) and ill have access to both dark and light magic schools and with a goal to play with this one party for whole tree worlds.

So, if i started with cleric on MM7, does it mean that im permanently bound to the mm7 version of cleric, which means he'll only learn the school that goes in line with a plot, so essentially the same one that the wizard will have?

Hi groovy MM people.

Sinbad here from the old Castle Gobs forums (Might and Magic Tribute). It's been a while, and I hope you're all doing well!
First of all, Well done Rodril and crew, I absolutely love these amazing mods and have played them nonstop for the last few years.
That said, I have a problem that's been driving me a little nuts...

I'm running the latest version of MMMerge: "MM678_Merged_05.11.2023_gdrv.7z"
with the patch: "MMMerge patch 16.01.2024.7z"
and the Multiplayer Mod version: "Latest 14.01.2024/4"

I really want to play MMMerge Multiplayer with semi-unusual Race/Class combos, e.g a Troll Thief and Vampire Sorcerer for example.
By default this works great for the most part, however, it breaks my RP immersion that my Troll doesn't get Regeneration, and for the life of me, I can't figure out how to get this working.
I recall this functionality being included by default in a prior version, before I updated to the Multiplayer mod, although I was probably using the race/class unlocker, Revamped version and/or some other community branch.

I've tinkered with the Data/Tables/Race Skill.txt to give Trolls "E/1/0" regeneration, but can't find anywhere in-game to learn the regeneration skill.
I've tried creating my own "MMMergeSettings.lua" in the root directory since one wasn't being created automatically, and inside it, I've made sure to add "Merge.Settings.Character.AutolearnRacialSkills = 1" however, this doesn't appear to have any effect on character generation. (It's probably not even being read...)
I've finally come to terms with the fact I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing, so if anyone can help, it would be very much appreciated!

Update: So it turns out I actually can learn Regeneration from *some* Temples... whoops.
Can Vampiric ability, Dragon and Dark Elf also be learned somewhere?
Also, I'm still very curious if there is a way to enable auto-learning racial skills at character creation.

Also i think it's some sort of bug, but i used like a dozen of horseshoes on my characters and it didnt increase their luck at all

Vampire skill can be learned from the Expert/Master/GM Vampire teachers in Shadowspire. I suspect the other teachers for those racial skills can teach you those skills, so long you're of the appropriate race. In the base Merge, without modifying the racial skills file, you're limited to Expert Vampire skill if you're not of the Vampire Class as well.
Vampire casters with GM Vampire skill are extremely powerful, due to being able to use Mist Form to make themselves impervious to Physical damage (which is the most common damage type), while still retaining the bulk of their damage output (magic), which imo makes Vampire the best race choice for caster classes (Mist Form sucks for melee classes though, since they can't deal Physical damage while in Mist Form). Just be aware that you want to learn GM Vampire skill first, before transforming into a Lich, because becoming a Lich changes your race (and therefore makes Vampire skill unlearnable after that point).

is outdated. Is there a separated download from the game files of google drive?

The promotions are tied to which NPC is performing the promotion. If you can finagle yourself some transportation to Enroth, you'll have access to the MM6 style 2nd promotions with access to both Light and Dark (only up to Master rank, though)

(Although occasionally there is no crash and everything works - but when exactly, I could not understand.)

The bare game without a mod, or updated with GrayFace's patch, works fine.

If you delete the file "Data\mmmerge.D.lod", the game starts successfully, several text error messages are displayed on top of the game screen and then the main menu appears:

(When I try to start a new game, it crashes of course, but main menu works stable.)

Compatibility mode, the presence/absence of administrator rights, full-screen or windowed mode - do not change anything.

I use Windows 7 without antivirus and without admin account (but I enable admin rights through UAC when needed). Help me please!

Hey, I've been playing the merge with the latest patch and I'm experiencing an issue. I started on Antagarich with a Monk/Ranger/Paladin/Sorcerer party and have reached a part of the game where I've been able to acquire HP/SP regeneration items. My Sorcerer's cloak, with an "Of Plenty" enchantment, works, but my Paladin's and Ranger's "of the golem" and "of the troll" HP regen items do not work. One is a cloak and the other is a ring, if that matters.

Is this a known issue?

In Base MMMerge these bonuses don't work if applied to non-MM8 items.
In Revamp it was fixed by commit 21f767ae. Will require slight adaptation for Base.

I got it, thank you very much. After several tests, this solution runs very well, with telepathy able to see the items on the monster's body, and thieves can also steal items from monster. :tsup:
