B000JGVC48" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" />Stop, get ready to wear those parachute pants again, as it will soon be <i>Hammer Time</i>! Amazon.com now includes a page for the first Heroes V expansion, The Hammers of Fate, with a price of $29.99 and a release on November 14. The <a href="/http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B000 ... 9E">Amazon UK store</a><img src="/http://www.assoc-amazon.co.uk/e/ir?t=ce ... B000JSFZ9E" width="1" height="1" border="0" alt="" style="border:none !important; margin:0px !important;" /> takes preorders for £16.99, but with a release on November 17 only. <a href="/http://www.ebgames.com/search.asp?Ntk=T ... EBGames</a> seems to confirm the November 14 US release. If you missed the original announcement, the expansion will include much requested features:

<i>"Improved mechanics and gameplay: Thanks to new features such as caravans and a random map generator, players will enjoy unlimited replayability and an even smoother gameplay experience. In addition, the simultaneous turn feature will speed up online games."</i>

On a completely unrelated note, I smile whenever I browse some message board and come across the name "Farmers of Hate".

Did I miss the gone gold announcement? If it is not gold yet they will be hard pressed to release it that soon I think.

Cravans is ok! Will we be able to flag leprechauns and water wheels? Will we be able to buy external creatures from the caravan? Anyone know?

I think Flamers of Hate would be more relevant to message boards. ;)

Smoother gameplay? Well, I never really considered H5 gameplay smooth to begin with, but whatever.

Hurray for caravans! Also I am glad they finally implemented the simultaneous turns, that should make multiplayer much quicker.

Sounds good all around.

Yes, it's supposed, but will not be. ;) Just look at the number of versions of patches. There are patches for DVD-version, CD-version, Collector Edition version, Special Collector Edition Version, double CD Super Special Collector Edition version and duble DVD + extra CD Super Amazing Special Collector Edition version. ;)

Funny, I had emailed UBI's Support (U.S.) and posted their response on the forums where they said the HOF's release date was 10/31/06. Just goes to show ya, the departments of ubi/nival have one big communication problem! I should have known that wasn't the correct date since the companies weren't showing any box cover, new data, etc. yet.. Oh well no big deal for me since I haven't really made up my mind if and when I will buy the expansion. I may hold off until I read some backfeed after it's release....

Once again, I see on the top of the box, it says "Might and Magic" and then "Heroes V". This again makes it sound like an offshoot of Might and Magic; Ubi has got to stop doing that, because people new to the series might get confused about what is Might and Magic versus Heroes of Might and Magic.

I purchased the basic, vanilla CD-ROM version of Heroes V, but for various reasons have not gotten around to installing it yet. It reached the point where I decided I may as well wait until the expansion was released. This was based on the assumption that the expansion would fix most, if not all, of any bugs/problems in the original Heroes V release. I am getting the feeling from the postings that this may not be true. Does anyone know for sure?

JJ does.But then again,he did say that 1.1 fixed all of the 1.0 problems,and 1.2 fixed all of 1.1 problems,and 1.3 fixed all of the 1.2 problems,so....
