Question for people who own the Special Edition...

Unread postby Stevel024 » 25 Aug 2006, 07:49

What does the Hero trail do (the one in video or game options, I can't remeber)? Its the one where if you try and check it, it says for Collectors Edition only (well if you own the regular version). Is it cool? And if so, could you take a screenshot of it and post it? I'm just curious and want to see what it does. Thanks.

When a hero gets a big enough army, he starts leaving a trail on the adventure map. The bigger the army, the longer/brighter the trail. The trails are race flavored too : demon heroes leave a fiery trail, while rangers leave bright lights and fluttering butterflies for example.

Makes it easier to identify the enemy's dangerous heroes from his fodder/minecapturing ones.

He's talking about the special edition aura, not the trails.

You have to use the [ Previous ] button for a bit to get to the pic with the aura. Have fun.

Maybe one of the mods can incorporate the images into the Heroes V FAQ post. This seems to have been asked frequently enough.

Just out of curiosity, has anyone tried to read the text within the auras?

When I first heard that they were releasing the extra maps to the public, I was a bit miffed. Then I remembered that a similar happened with another game I had. They had a deal if you preordered you would get soemthing special ingame (I forget if it was a map or something).

In the end, they released it to the public since some geniuses decided to post it all over the internet.

I cannot blame UBI for this, if people would not have put the new maps up, they probably would not have made them available. And anyway, the game also comes with previous versions of the HOMM series (which is probably the main reason for the price difference)
