Special Aura

Unread postby Ketzal » 11 Aug 2006, 14:35

Does any one have a sceenshot of a hero with the special aura from the special editions?

Forgive me if this has been posted already; I tried looking, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks.

ya know, they say it's only for the collector's edition, but i find hero trails randomly appearing in my "regular" version. anybody else?

ranger gets butterflies or leaves.

inferno gets, what else, flames.

necro has "green fog"

warlock has "purple fog"

etc.

Those are the regular ones, not the "special" ones. In fact, I have never seen the special ones either.

The special aura isn't that trail that follows the hero, it is that circle underneath the hero. If you don't have the special aura, then all heroes have (or are supposed to have) just the generic blue circle. If you have the special aura, then each hero's circle is different.

That's it? Oh... OK... Thanks for the info.

I have the option turned on, but I had no idea what it meant.

Does the special aura even work anymore? Half the time (as of 1.2) I don't even get it, and the option for it in the menu is grayed out -_-

Thanks Angelspit. Anyone got a screenshot without the aura (now that I know what it is, I see that I have always had it)

sorry but.... BWAHAHAHAHA! that's gotta be the lamest add-on for a "collector's edition" I've ever seen.

*sigh*

I miss the days of things like Ultima six, that came with a nice little figure, a cloth map of the entire world, and something else (IIRC a bag of dice?) in the "collectors edition".

Well it did come with Heroes 3 & 4, two "bonus maps" (that Ubi stupidly released to the public) and some lame soundtrack/media dvd as well.

As for the CE extras, I can get HoMM III and HoMM IV to install, but not HoMM IV: Winds of War. Plus, I tried to download some HoMM III maps and the game won't recognize them, so I had to play under my old HoMM III, in which they work just fine. So, I'm not sure why I paid the extra either. Now, they're releasing HoMM Complete and who knows if it even works? I fell for the special aura also...sigh...

Heroes Complete comes with all five games with all expansions, but the HV in it is a regular version, which is not anything bad. I don't know the EU version but Ubi literally scr*wed us all who purchased the US LE version. HIII and HIV comes naked with zero patches and expansions, the extras DVD is really just cr*p. Plus, they made the bonus maps public, lol.
I believe in science and that science can explain everything.
