Until death gets you away from the monitor

Unread postby DaemianLucifer » 10 Aug 2006, 06:55

A thread in HV forum inspired me to make this one.So whats your longest eye bleeding time? What game managed to keep you in front of the monitor for so long, that you forgot even to breath? For me,it was civilisation one.I think I played it for straight 36 hours once.True,it was all due to my amiga not being able to save, but still,it was a very addictive game.

Settlers I, due to Amiga's lack of save ability... About 15 hours, then 4 hours of sleep and another 20 hours.. At the last couple hours I was really worried that the poor machine would fry :D..

The day HoMM3 was released...I think I spent a good 20 or so hours playing non-stop, which was probably pretty unhealthy..

Like I said in the HoMM V forum, longest play time for me was when the first Final Fantasy came out, played it for 54 straight hours to complete conquer it.

CM4 - some 40 hours. Breaks for food/drink and use of bathroom facilities, of course.

I think Red Alert holds a good second; some 15 hours without any breaks whatsoever.

Spent a couple of nights on the old EA NHL games with a friend, probably 7-8 hours straight with only very short bathroom breaks, and on Civilization II. I used to spend whole days playing the Ultima games, alone in my small apartment. Those were the days. Today I'm luck if I can find three hours in a row.

54h straight..? World record buddy. (Got a feeling that some guy in Japan or Korea have done 72h or so....)

Can't remember my own record, but 14h I've easily done on some games. Super Mario 64 I did 12-13h on. Was LANing Diablo II LoD with a buddy a few years ago. I think we did 24h straight there. I could have done another 12h but he insisted on strange things like sleep and diurnal rhytm....
