oh well, over here (belgium)

a 'college' means (catholic)'high school'
a 'hogeschool' means 'college', which tend to offer both professional bachelors (3 years of study and yer out), and academic bachelors (3 years of study isn't enough)

a university is more or less what it says, it's divided into more campus's and again divided into faculties. After 3 years, you've got a bachelor degree worth nothing, and you have to master a few things. Sorcery, linguistics, nuclear physics, and so on.

Bologna Process? We get that here as well.
We have it as well :)
We're in the final phase: from this year on, everything is 3+2
we're gonna see how good it is... I'm still learning in the old system, that means 5 years then a degree, which is something like master degree

ed. (more details)
we have (had actually, I'm talking about the old sys.) similar system like the one mentioned in the wikipedia article linked by TT. IIRC we have a law, that a university must have at least five faculties. For ex. I'm studying on the faculty of sciences. in other case it is 'just' something like a college. Some confusion: a univ. can have 'college faculties'. In these faculties and actual colleges people have to learn only 3-4 years for a degree.
In the new system however univ. will be a school offering master level degrees.

I just found that I am having an oral exam tomorrow. And that's a good thing, as the examinations on the 4th year of lawschool (which I'm curently finishing) is that you first get a home-exam, then 2 full day school-exams, then an oral exam based on the home exam, but of course only if you pass. Which I did

But I'm a lousy student, I waste my time on anything but studying most of the time, so if I pass exams or not always comes as a surprise :)

Aaaargh

I seriously hate school ATM. My physics teacher is complaining about my report (that was done according to a manual) that the results were to short...

And my mathemathics teacher made a way to hard exam for us... I'll have to redo that in my (almost aaaalmost) 'vacation' (I have two more weeks of school but I only have to come 5 times... to pick up report cards etc.)

Blegh I hate school.

This week I'll be finishing my exams... just 4 more to go, one every day except for Tuesday. Sometime around the end of the week I'll place an order for a certain game :D

Ah, so how are you doing so far?

P. S. I have one more year to go so I didn't have exams yet (the tests do count for my diploma though) I don't really know how to translate 'tentamens'. But that's what I got.

I got a perfect 10 at the oral exams (Romanian and English). Today we had the written Romanian exam; the subjects were pretty nice, especially the third one (essay): the condition of the intelectual as portrayed in a modern novel.

We had an 'exam' in highschool each semester at Maths, Romanian, Physics and Computer Science (beside all the other small tests at the rest of the subjects), and it was called a 'thesis' or a 'semestrial test'. Maybe it's similar to your 'tentamens'?

Let's call 'em semestrial tests then. But I see that so far, you're doing good.

It seems it doesn't matter that I screw mathematics up, I still have a 6.3 on avaredge. That doesn't mean I'll let the grade stay this way though, it was a 4, and I can redo the semestrial test (a different one - but it'll count for the one I screwed up if it's grade is higher) which will hopefully get me a better grade.

Speaking of finished things, I finished my Maths exam two hours ago :) and it went pretty good. I'm not going to get a 10, but I'm hoping for at least 9.

Now I'm probably done with Maths at this level for the rest of my life. ;|

this summer's exams paradise's over.... at least here

we had the most difficult semester, we were overloaded with work...

we had the last comprehensive exam (that's the word i've found in the dictionary) out of the three, which covered the topics of modern physics, including theory of relativity, quantum physics and statistical physics
half of my year didn't even dare to try this exam, it's just too much...
I passed every single exam of this semester :proud: :D

ps. the best time to start my internship :(
