Visual Developer: West Studio, see the art here
Our Interviews: Round #1 and there will be Round #2 when provided by CQ Team

**Game Info:**
In Creature Quest you are questing and collecting creatures. The biggest change compared to Might & Magic games is leveling system. You don't get creature experience from combat, instead you are collecting gems for you color. The game follow simple (and honestly ingenious) rule: "Fire burn Nature, Nature soothe Air, Air cool Water and Water extinguish Fire. Obviously, there is also Life beats Death and Death crush Life addendum. This effectively replaces hates, as Angel vs Devil. And make this close to card system games."

There are no heroes. As player your aim is to get yourself boss creatures, epic to rare and combine them to sweep quests on highest difficulty and also enemy dungeons to get prestige and bonus weekly award - epic or legendary creatures with some goodies.

The game works strictly online and you need to be continually connected to internet.

This is not strictly pay for win game, getting diamonds serves only for speeding up your development. Need to say, that fully upgrading your creatures take a long time, so speeding up is certainly tempting.

You can:
#1 - Collect creatures from quests
#2 - Upgrade them for better stats and profound effects. Level them up, with use of gems and power totems. Each level has different look.
#3 - Train them in Battle Tower (for reward)
#4 - Put them into Your own dungeon to defend your honor, while you will be looting others dungeons for pure pun!
#5 - Become virtually rich in your throne room
#6 - Social activity: Looting Dungeons and Battling in Towers in teams!
#7 - Your units are immortal, you play for prestige not for life.
#8 - Your can build your buffs kingdom, to get auto cash and bonuses for your units.
#9 - Find the best synergy for your teams and dungeons!
#10 - Play Guild Wars, strike the stronger Guilds and build faster your Stables. That's another Social, team cooperation recommended.

Editor:
You cannot edit or create maps but you can fill up your dungeon. Be creative and test it after you are done!

System requirements:

For Android you should start with at least 1GB RAM device and prepare that you will lost most of multitasking, as the game will use almost all of your RAM. But really the best is from 3GB up with some decent processor, you will save a huge amount of time in case of Android, I have Motorola Moto G6 (3GB RAM, Snapdragon 450).

Trivia:
* If you hit "Consume" gems for experience, you may receive different multipliers, 1x, 1.5x, 2x. Go savvy and upgrade in batches.
* If the quantum of treasure is too big new treasuries will pop up under the ones already picked up.
* Totems can add maximally 100 to each primary attributes - HP, PWR, ATK, DEF, LUK.
* You can have up to 500 800 creatures in storage
* In your clickfest don't miss Donkey Caravan, this riches is weakly defended but fast to escape!
* Quick questing provides you just with fragment of treasure, for fragment of resources. It's fair but consider twice.
* Events are scheduled in the week, gold hunting is on the weekend in "The Wealthiest Tavern". If you desire for extra luck go with "Bewitching Bayou"
* Although it's wise to have different dots, if you have different group. You may have all the same if you have (almost) unicolor group. The key is to always hit dot combination.
* Combine colors in your group to beat color waves!
* Use Summons and get extra from Token Chest! And keep tokens for them.
* Awakening your creatures is possible when you reach last evolution level, check you have all stars. You can either use essences (very rare) or the same creatures gained from quests.
* To confuse enemy attacking your dungeon, swap your tomes and change secondary creatures abilities!
* The creatures with more dots attack first in your dungeon when defending it.
* As you are leveling up, you are offered another dungeons layouts, bigger. Train creatures to them in advance.
* As a player when you reach another level you will always get goodies and speed!
* If you will be short on challenge points, quick coins or speed you may got discount offer to buy them from your diamonds.
* Keep you diamonds handy, for example when you are upgrading your boss creature, there' handsome gems offer for 90 diamonds.
* When questing always try to visit rifts, to catch donkey caravan and buy from merchant
* Do you know that you can obtain Peri as your boss creature?

Re: Creature Quest

Unread postby Pol » 28 Jul 2017, 14:03

I'm adding here an excerpt from the official FAQ, trying to quote only the most interesting answers.
Q: Can you combo reroll a creature with no Combo Dots?
A: Yes! If a Creature has no Combo Dots, using a Combo Dot reroll will add Combo Dots to that Creature (from 1 to 4). Once the Creature has Combo Dots, future rerolls will only change the color of the present Combo Dots on the Creature.

Q: Why can’t I recycle this Creature or use it for an Awakening?
A: Creatures cannot be recycled or used for Awakening if they are marked as a “favorite,” or if they are in use in either a team or in your dungeon. You will need to remove Creatures from all teams and your dungeon and ensure they are not marked as a favorite.

To un-favorite a Creature, go to that Creature's info page, then unselect the star on the top left side of the screen.

Q: My purchase failed. What should I do?
A: If you relaunch the game, the purchase will be retried.

Q: I download the app but it crashes very soon after I launch it.
A: Check if your phone meets the minimum requirements to play. On Android it requires Android 4.1.2 or newer, 1 GB+ of RAM and an internet connection. On iOS its iOS 8 or newer, and iPhone 5 or newer. Check to see that your storage is not full. If you meet the spec and are still having problems, contact us at help@vcmobile.net

Q: Why does my Creature with 3 Combo Dots of the same color only get a 2x multiplier?
A: The multiplier provided by Combo Dots is dependent on the number of UNIQUE colors present in the Combo Dots. For example, if a Creature has 2, 3 or 4 Combo Dots but all the Combo dots are the same color, the maximum combo that creature can obtain is a 2x Multiplier. If you want more information about Combo Dots, please watch the Combo Dots 101 video.

Q: Is having duplicate colored Combo Dots a good thing or bad thing?
A: Having the same colored Combo Dots can be beneficial depending on your playstyle. While having more Combo Dots of the same color lower the total combo multiplier, it does make it easier to combo that Creature, since it requires less overall Creatures to consume the Combo Dots. Additionally, if there is a Creature who has a special ability that you want to use often, having another Creature with color matching Combo Dots provide it with mana at a faster rate.

Q: How come sometimes I see Creatures get odd number multipliers? 9x, etc.
A: In combat, if a Creature is comboing and defeats an enemy Creature, all other combos get +1 to their combo multiplier. This, and additional information, is also covered in the Combo Dots 101 video.

Q: Can Creature buffs stack?
A: Buffs cast by a Creature’s Special Ability cannot stack, however, Creatures will always use the best version of a buff. For example, if two Creatures cast a DEF buff, one at 15% and one at 50%, they will benefit from the 50% buff as opposed to the 15% buff or a 65% buff.

Q: How do the combo-dots and multipliers work?
A: The combo-dots and multipliers add additional strategic elements to team-building and battles. Here is a brief explanation of this system:
When a Creature attacks, it takes the combo dots of its color from all the other Creatures that have not attacked yet and converts that into mana. The attacking Creature will also take its own combo dots, if present. The mana bar is what powers up a Creature’s special ability. Note that Creatures also gain mana by attacking and killing enemy Creatures.
If a Creature has all of its combo dots taken by other Creatures, then that Creature attains a combo state and gains a multiplier to deal extra damage. The multiplier increases based on the number of unique combo dots that Creature has (1=2x, 2=4x, 3=8x, 4=16x). Additionally, if a Creature is combo-ing and defeats an enemy Creature, all other combos gain an additional multiplier.
For example, the x4 multiplier combo would improve to a x5 multiplier. This results in a variety of strategies when forming your team – regarding the colors of each Creature, its Special Abilities, its combo dots, and the order in which you attack with each (whether the focus is on filling up mana or getting the multipliers).

Q: What is the deal with the Donkeys?
A: Donkeys are often found wandering the lands in Creature Quest, hauling valuable treasure around. They are quiet, shy, and will often run away when encountered, but, on rare occasions, you might be able to battle one for their haul of loot.

Q: What is the best way to earn gold?
A: If you need gold, one of the best ways to get some is to wait until the weekend and play the special Weekend Quest, “The Wealthiest Tavern.” This quest yields a large amount of gold, but is only available during the weekend. Alternatively, recycling Creatures can provide you with gold if you are in a pinch. Overall though, completing any Quest will result in a decent gold gain so get out there and go Questing!

Q: How are the players I can attack in the Dungeon Challenge determined?
A: Players who should be around the same Prestige and skill level are chosen at random for your attack list in the Dungeon Challenge.

Q: Am I competing against EVERY person playing Creature Quest for the featured Creature offered as the reward in the Dungeon Challenge?
A: While you are competing against other Creature Quest players to earn the featured Creature as the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranked player in the Dungeon Challenge, you are not competing against every person playing Creature Quest when you compete in the Dungeon Challenge. Each Player is placed in their own bracket consisting of 1,000 other players (that number is subject to change) that are in their same tier (Bronze, Silver, Gold). Your bracket of 1,000 players are the only players you compete against for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd ranks in order to earn a Creature in the Dungeon Challenge.

Combo Dots Multiplier Calculation
~courtesy of Reddit

Combo works on both healing and damage. And you will get +1 to multiplier for any killed creature.
x2 = +75%
x4 = +100%
x8 = +150%
x16 = +250%

The calculation is as follows:
Multiply the number of your combo by 12.5%, then add +50% as base.
That's the bonus damage you get from combo.

x2 = 75%
x3 = 87.5%
x4 = 100%
x5 = 112.5%
x6 = 125%
x7 = 137.5%
x8 = 150%
x9 = 162.5%
x10 = 175%
x11 = 187.5%
x12 = 200%
x13 = 212.5%
x14 = 225%
x15 = 237.5%
x16 = 250%
x17 = 262.5%
x18 = 275%
x19 = 287.5%
x20 = 300%

The maximum theoretically possible combo is x24 (x16 base, +1 from berserker basic attack, on the battlefield there can be at max 8 enemies, so killing 7 of those with a different is another x7). Realistically, you can expect x18 to be the highest you can see.

STRONG COLORS
The following attacks are strong: blue vs red, red vs green, green vs yellow, yellow vs blue, white vs black and black vs white.
Doing one of those attacks adds a +100% modifier. This doesn't work on healing.

WEAK COLORS
The following attacks are weak: red vs blue, green vs red, yellow vs green, blue vs yellow.

Doing one of those attacks halves the damage dealt after ALL other modifiers have been accounted for. It works differently from the other aspects in this segment. Does not affect healing

Examples how the modifiers work:
for all examples assume a red creature with 1000 pwr and an attack, which deals 200% pwr dmg vs a creature with 0 defense.
attack a red with no crit or combo: 2000 dmg
attack a red with no crit and 2x combo: 2000 + 75% = 3500 dmg
attack a red with crit and no combo: 2000 + 100% = 4000 dmg
attack a red with crit and x2 combo: 2000 + 100% + 75% = 2000 + 175% = 5500 dmg
attack a green with x4 combo: 2000 + 100% + 100% = 2000 + 200% = 6000 dmg
attack a green with x4 combo and crit: 2000 + 100% + 100% + 100% = 2000 + 300% = 8000 dmg
attack a blue with no crit or combo: 2000 * 0.5 = 1000 dmg
attack a blue with x4 combo and crit: 2000 + 100% + 100% * 0.5 = 2000 + 200% * 0.5 = 6000 * 0.5 = 3000 dmg

Maximum possible modifier without prior kills would be attack a green with crit with x16 combo: 2000 + 100% + 100% + 250% = 2000 + 450% = 2000 + 9000 = 11000 dmg

How do basic attacks work?

All basic attacks deal a percentage of PWR dmg. This value is the base dmg and they are affected by bonus damage the same way as described above.

soldier: 50%
bruiser: 2x 27.5%
bard: 45%
ranger: 50% (60% vs flying, doesn't work, is bugged, perhaps it was fixed now?)
grunt: 55%
mage: 30% to target, 15% to adjacent
scholar: 15% to row
squire: 50%
warlock: 50%
assassin: 50%
defender: 45%
healer: 45%
hunter: 50%
mystic: 50%
berserker: 45%
In combat, if a Creature is comboing and defeats an enemy Creature, all other combos get +1 to their combo multiplier.
When a Creature's Combo Dots are fully consumed, it gains a multiplier to its healing and damage on its next action. The more Dots a Creature has, the higher the multiplier!
The multiplier provided by Combo Dots is dependent on the number of UNIQUE colors present in the Combo Dots. For example, if a Creature has 2, 3 or 4 Combo Dots but all the Combo dots are the same color, the maximum combo that creature can obtain is a 2x Multiplier. If you want more information about Combo Dots, please watch the Combo Dots 101 video.

I'm a little irritated by CQ's management, regarding the official responsibles for online content. I was trying to find some creature portraits, to avoid having to make screenshot of all of them, then I see that aside the usual lack of regular updates in their own website, their Instagram, Facebook and whatnot are all very not updated, dating back many months the last post. :( Even CQ wikia/gamepedia has seen little updates for a while (although we can directly contribute). :drama: They don't do anything on those Social apps to try and interact with fans, even small share/gain stuff. Also changing a bit these cyclic events ...

Aside the addition of the Guild Wars, it gives away an awful aura of abandonment on the whole picture. ;|

Galaad, any idea of what's coming for Halloween? Probably on Thursday?

Probably Halloween Quest, same like previous year. As for FB that's indeed alarming, in old times they were even having contests here.

As for wiki, my guess is, that for some of previous versions, someone went and extracted it. But I have no idea about current key/encryption. They probably changed it from these times.

What was the Halloween Quest? I haven't yet completed 1 year of CQ play, so I cannot recall that. I think I started playing on February or March.

Will it be this, then? A Dark-Elf farmable quest?

Actually it's a Dark Elf protecting Dentist in disquise for Gill Fiend. Or something along these lines.

The kids did a wonder to decorate his castle with roles of toilet paper and they are both angry, hence the faces. :P

After several years on the Windows Phone platform I moved on to Android and that gives me the opportunity to finally try that game.

Let's see what's it all about...

I hope in patch at March, still.

Anyway this thread is going to be pruned at some time, so beware, this communication will be removed.

[1-10.5] - Mommy Meowgic Quest - appearing always before the Mommy's Day,
  • Good for totems HP+DEF, big gems, Griffins, Lizards, Kobold Cpt., Mummy.
  • As you are getting most of the resources along the way, this one is nicely suited for QC. Go manual and QC what you can at Empire diff. ;)
[11-13.5] - Mother Lovin' Summon Event (Sphinx, Medusa, Shadow Temptress, Sorceress, Griffin, Dark Elf, Blue Drake, Harpy)
