Beginning the Tale

Unread postby {CH}ArticleBot » 28 Feb 2016, 23:58

Karmakeld has sent us a batch of pictures from The Tale of Young Mudgeon campaign. We're starting off with a couple of titbits from the first map.

I am looking forward to this a lot. Whenever I see images and updates, I want to try out H4 just to be able to play these great looking maps and campaigns! Keep up the great work!

Thanks HOP :)
Some explanations to the pics; first picture shows how the different difficulties sometimes affects win conditions and not only amount of starting resources and neutral's sizes.
2nd picture shows how scripts offers new uses of adventure objects or in this case, creatures. In the first map you can use gold golems to mine additional resources.

That putting workers on mines to mine additional resources is a really cool idea!

Thanks, but it wasn't even my own :-) Credit goes to my testers, Donald and Linda Bryant. One of their comments, were that they tried to put golems into the mines, as I had a text suggesting it, but nothing happened. So I figured I'd better make a script, rather than just keeping it story. But it'll give you some other choices, rather than just the usual 'army addition'. You can also hire Dwarves who can mine more gold golems.

Dwarves that can mine gold golems? As in, if they're on a gold mine they create (add) gold golems? Or did you mean they mine more gold? Either would be pretty cool :)

If you place the dwarves in the gold mine, they will produce more gold golems for you over a period of time :)
For some strange reason, the golems can't mine gold themself. most likely something to do with them being made of gold, and things would just go all wrong, if asked to ;)
