I am.But then again, this is a game from a big game company, with lots of money.I only value one review, where it doesnt start with "the graphics is divine" or "I havent played HoMM before".

If you want a RMG (Random Map Generator) for H4, then download H4Util, learn how to use it and make random maps.
I am back and ready to... ready to... post things.

"I'm not surprised that the 'review sites' are so favorable. I remember all the good-to-great reviews H4 got."

Yep, most site reviews of H4 were quite positive. Gamespot, Gamespy, etc. awarded it something like 8-9 out of 10 (which I would consider well-deserved) despite listing the lack of MP support and other signs that the game was rushed out. It was the awfully inadequate expansions that got hammered by critics eventually.

yeah the expansions were awful  there were not enough new material in both of them to grant a single expansion. but 3DO were on the edge of bankrupcy so they were desparate...
I used to be indecisive, now I am not so sure...

Even if HV dont have anything in common with the previous homm planets like Axeoth, Enroth(cant remember the name on the planet containing Homm 1-3) and the mystical Ancestors, think of HV as just a different planet in the same glaxy, a rogue homm planet if you like since it dosent have any ancestors watching over it, creatures and heroes etc from previous M&M and HOMM titles.

Im so glad that HV gave me the good ol' heroes atmosphere and feeling back even without our famous heroes etc (im missing them among with yuopu other fans yes, but give em a break and let new ones appear;).

Im really looking forward to play this game hours after hours in many years :D

umfridus, we must live on different planets. Where I come from the initial Heroes IV reviews were scathingly unfavorable. CGW even made it a coaster of the year.
Before you criticize someone, first walk a mile in their shoes. If they get mad, you'll be a mile away. And you'll have their shoes.

Caradoc, check Gamespot and you'll see them giving it much praise.

Computer Gaming World was the exception. The majority of review sites gave the base game favorable reviews, and later on gave the expansions a beating.
I'm on Steam and Xbox Live.

I love the Demo, just one concern though. Is it just me or does the Inferno stand no chance against Haven ?

I think the training grounds give too much of an advantage, even if you just take your peasants up to marksman you can gain around 50 marksman per week...
