A pots on the Facebook page talks of a solution to the so-called "black screen" problem and also outlines the release of a small patch (1.5.2) at the end of next week.

As a non-owner I have a question, are these mini-patches going to be cumulative i.e. 1.5.2 includes 1.5.1 or will each have to be applied individually. Basically the same question if you just bought the game is patch 1.5 the only one of the major patches you need or do some of the earlier patches need to be applied. Don't tell it's no big deal as their online system will download and apply everything you need. Patches should be cumulative; except the mini in between ones addressing a specific problem in an emergency, but all of those should be wrapped into the next big patch in this case 1.6 should be all any player needs if the just bought it.

Now these guys are patching extra fast. That and I think that I'll wait for 1.5.3 for being damn sure that all bugs introduced with 1.5.1 and 1.5.2 will be ixed. :D

Patch 1.5.2 Next Week

@jeff

Well, judging by my recent reinstall of the game, all patches until 1.5.1 were downloaded in sequence by game updater and applied separately.

So it seems there is no "full patch to latest version" files available yet.

That is unfortunate when you consider the unreliability of the UBI servers. It is also unnecessary except for a small emergency patch. Each large patch 1.1,1.2 and so on should be cumulative. It also means fewer files that UBI and others have to host.

They must release cumulative patch, once, at later times. :)

For me the auto-updater only downloads and applies one patch at a time. So to update from 1.3 to 1.5.1, I had to close and re-open it three times. Doesn't bother me that much, but would be nice to have it not do that.

It's a good point, I'll relay it to the Limbic devs. You gotta hand it to those guys, they're working hard to improve the game.

Indeed they're working hard and they seem to be very reliable. Kudos to Limbic.

Yea, once again it seems like they're organising their patches the wrong way. But then HoMM patches were historically handled quite poorly, anyway.

at least there are patches coming out and that's the most important thing, for me anyways.
