References, winks and nods in Heroes VI
>>>Here is a complete list
Don't lie. ;P
>>>Luna appeared in Heroes 1, 2, 3 & 4.
Someone forgot about Might and Magic title.
Where are notes about: Valeska, Karloff, Veyer, Nebiros, Deleb, Jezebeth, Kha-Beleth and of course Raelag?
>>>Souldrinker is based on an unused concept art from Dark Messiah.
IIRC there were also souldrinker swords in Crusaders.
>>>Several references to fan-favourite Barbarian hero Crag Hack
fan-favourite? Yog is better. ;P
>>>Various references and (very probably bad) puns in Quest names.
And what about some campaigns maps titles?

You're always trying to find something to complain or nitpick about, aren't you...Avonu wrote:>>>Here is a complete list

To be honest, I can't remember meeting her in one of the RPGs. In which one was she?Avonu wrote: >>>Luna appeared in Heroes 1, 2, 3 & 4.

There's nothing specific to say about Valeska and Karloff (the Valeska of H6 was not meant to be a new incarnation of the Valeska of H3, the name is just a coincidence), the other ones are Ashan characters so it's not surprising to find them in H6 :pAvonu wrote: Where are notes about: Valeska, Karloff, Veyer, Nebiros, Deleb, Jezebeth, Kha-Beleth and of course Raelag?
Aren't these known already? I thought so.Avonu wrote: And what about some campaigns maps titles?

Then why you mentioned Kaspar? ;PMarzhin wrote:>>>There's nothing specific to say about Valeska and Karloff (the Valeska of H6 was not meant to be a new incarnation of the Valeska of H3, the name is just a coincidence), the other ones are Ashan characters so it's not surprising to find them in H6 :p
And the same for (Boris) Karloff - you have fans "characters" but not him?
If this should be complete list...Marzhin wrote:>>>Aren't these known already? I thought so.

"Back in Black is a reference to a song by AC/DC" - best reference! \m/

Aren't Mephala, Jenova, Kyrre fan favorite heroes? Mephala is mine ...

References, winks and nods in Heroes VI
Shiva appeared in Heroes 3 & 4. Her bio mentions the Dragon Utopia (classic Heroes location), the Sunken Temple (from H5), the Tomb of a Thousand Terrors (final dungeon of Might & Magic 4 and 9) and the Thunderbird (Stronghold unit in Heroes 3 & 4).
Someone give a link to Shiva's bio...I'm curious, especially about the reference from the Tomb of 1000 Terrors.

And the magic word...?
Shiva grew up in the Free City of Stormcliff, but soon understood she was not meant for urban life. In the singing of the birds, in the murmur of the wind, in the growl of the thunderstorm, she could hear the call of Ylath.
At twelve, she said her goodbyes (or rather left them on a piece of paper), packed her bags, stowed away in the caravan of a merchant, and started a life of adventure. She traveled all around Ashan with a group of fellow adventurers and accomplished many incredible exploits, including raiding the Sunken Temple, finding the Dragon Utopia, and surviving the deadly traps of the Tomb of a Thousand Terrors.
Currently, Shiva resides in the Pao Islands with the Orcs, learning from their Shamans the secrets of the one they call Father Sky. Not one to sit still for a long period of time, she intends to go looking for the lost peak where the legendary Thunderbird dwells.
It's the final dungeon only in 9the Tomb of a Thousand Terrors (final dungeon of Might & Magic 4 and 9)
Much better, must I say Same goes for the original Crag Hack, Terran dwarf barbarian from Good Alignment, the Ultimate Adventurer!Avonu wrote:fan-favourite? Yog is better. ;P

Make you strong places to dwell and practice the evil of your arts. Build great monuments to stand through the ages and remind your followers of the task with which you have been charged. Use these halls of iniquity to perpetrate your schemes against the infestation that has taken the fields and lakes of this land from you, their rightful masters. Never forget the hatred that must finally overcome and consume mankind. Dwell in your dungeons and brood. - Sheltem the Dark

Some references from 50 Shades of Purple
Shades of Darkness - don't tell me is it is not a "nod" to Shadow of Death name (SoD and SoD).
Heroes names:
Vein, Myranda, Sayuri, Kieran, Ga'arend, Bastian - Windswords mercenaries and heroes from Duel of Chamions browser game
Ariana - one of Sandro's lieutenant from Order of the Void and enemy. She and Vein met in Duel (as far as for now, campaign progress in DoC is halted, so no such event happened yet).
Raelag - our favourite children stalker from H5.
Eruina, Lethos, Yrbeth - another Dark Elves from H5
Kastore - Kastore was Elf Sorcerer in MM3 and MM7 and one of Forge creators. Kastore was also a warlock hero in HoMM1-2 (He looks like Saymur from MM4-5).
Lorelei - Lorelei was Dungeon Overlord in H3 and later Asylum Thief in H4
Sephinroth - Sephinroth was Dungeon Warlock in H3 and later Asylum Sorcerer(-ess) in H4. She claimed to be llegitimate daughter of Nicolas Gryphonheart but later it was reveled it was a lie.
Zakera - why she reminds me some teenage in love of sparkling "vampire" ("bite me")?
Artifacts:
Dragonbone Staff - "Staff of the Dragon Bone" game was a remake of King's Bounty (in 3D!) on Playstation
Edge of Balance, Moonblade - artifacts from H5
Windswords' Set - named after heroes from DoCs
That's all what I remember for now (well, not really ).
Shades of Darkness - don't tell me is it is not a "nod" to Shadow of Death name (SoD and SoD).
