What is your favoriate Might and Magic game and why?

I have only played might and magic 3 through might and magic 7. I have enjoyed every one and specifically love might and magic 7. Why?

Because of the turn-base system (of you want it). I also like the skills and level of skills. BDJ's upgrade is just awesome.

For some reason my new computer won't load MM6 or any previous versions. It also won't load 8 or 9.

My favorite is probably MM7 Because of its great variety of USEFUL skills and spells. There were more and better things to do choices to make and an interesting storyline.

I've only played 6,7 and 8 and I think mine is MM8.

Its biggest problem is the lack of content but to be honest I don't mind that too much. I like what NWC did with the classes and I just love the idea of having beast races in your party.

I also like the locations and the story, but I think in direct comparison with MM7, MM7 would win.

The only reason I chose mm7 of mm8 is that mm8 is way to easy and lacks alot of content. But other than that it was awesome

MM6 is the best for me forever. After completing mm3-5 I'm long years waited MM6. And I was happy to play, especially first 2-3 times. MM7-8 are only clones of MM6, with many changes in gameplaying. MM7 has (imho) the best skills improvement system, but mm6 has more optimal color palette and it's the first. I don't like MM8 and hate MM9. Mods to MM6-7 are fine to me, MM7Rev4 is the best I think.

MM 1-7, HoMM 3-4, CoMM, WoMM and Shifters. All of them are pretty much great, though, even MM9 to a lesser extent.
Make you strong places to dwell and practice the evil of your arts. Build great monuments to stand through the ages and remind your followers of the task with which you have been charged. Use these halls of iniquity to perpetrate your schemes against the infestation that has taken the fields and lakes of this land from you, their rightful masters. Never forget the hatred that must finally overcome and consume mankind. Dwell in your dungeons and brood. - Sheltem the Dark

mine is MM7 - I played through several times (I don't often replay games).
second place has to be MM6 - the maps were so nicely populated, they felt like real towns, compared to MM7's little villages. It also had more content, in my opinion.

MM7, because of the excellent graphical style and a lot of choices concerning the specialisation of your party.

I change my fav all the time. It was MM6 for a long time. Then I started to favor VII and later VIII. Homm3 is my favorite Heroes.

I have played Kings Bounty of late (the newly made ones). My son was maybe 13 when he got into Xeen. I had to buy both so he could have them mesh for the extra game. That was long ago.

I have to say MM6. The music, atmosphere, characters, and world is what did it for me. Next to MM6 comes a tie between Xeen and Isles of Terra.

I find them unplayable. Maybe, if I had played them when they came out I could get into them. I tried several of the earlier ones and did not see it. My bad, but there you are.

did you even try more then a 10 min? ive heard that cool story before, but if you push through your own expected limitations you will find a good game.

also, MM6 is just MM4-5 but with better graphics, FPS mode and being able to move more.

MM7. I guess it's nostalgia and the fact that many monsters and people is also in H3. Graphics is also nice, with MM standards.
And that you have your own freaking castle! Just wished the people respected their lords more..
Also the dark/light choosing is interesting.

I think MM9 could be favourite for somebody who liked and completed Wizardry8 (because its similar to it more than previously M&M)

Must repress murderous rage......
Anyway back to the point. Even mentioning mm9 on same line as w8 is insult to latter. Sure they are "sort of similar", but effectively one is good and polished game m while other is just insult to players. Comparing them would be same as boxing match of mike tyson and kindergarten kid.

MM6 hands down! It's one of my first pc RPG's that I played back then. I played it on a computer that coulnd't handle the game (it was a fast slideshow), and a broken down monitor, only displaying black and green. The memories...

Might and Magic 7, I loved being able to play as the dark side, and the changes to the skill and magic systems, and the new skills like Armsmaster. But I'll admit, there's less freedom to go around and do quests in whatever order you want there like in Might and Magic 6.
