Corlagon wrote:Oh, another quick question - what would you guys say to the creation of another Heroes Chronicles episode which takes place after Waerjak and Tarnum's campaign, featuring the Fiery Moon, Escaton and the Vori Elves? Just wondering...
Let's see:
Fiery Moon - I don't remember how it ended but afterall IIRC no one futher travelled to Fiery Moon.
Escaton - destroyed
Vori Elves - destroyed (at least society)

So, after HIV campaigns there is nothing to back for.

There's a time machine on CRON.

Go for it, Corlagon. :)

Not necessarily. Just because we haven't seen it happen doesn't mean it didn't. :)
Escaton - destroyed
He's an android. Androids can be repaired...
Vori Elves - destroyed (at least society)
Don't you worry, I can explain that...
There's a time machine on CRON.

Go for it, Corlagon.
Gotcha. ;)

But CRON is far away from Axeoth (me think that).
On the other hand, land from Legends of MM is/was on south far away from Chedian but on Axeoth. And IIRC in LoMM also existed timetravels. ;)

Another question:
- Who was the (high) king from HoMM1 outro? IIRC he said something like that: Lands conquered, enemies defeated, bla bla bla... Congratulaiton.

Holy mother of Krohn, the guy on the left of that outro screen looks exactly like Archibald. 8|

Rather like lord Kilburn (he also had familiar mustache).

But maybe Morglin Ironfist wasn't real Archibald father? You know - crusades, fighting with bandits and so on... and queen in her castle was so lonely... ;)

BTW - who is who?
EDIT: which portrait suits which faction leader best

heroes pictures

My bets:
lord Ironfist = sir Gallant
lord Slayer = Thundax
lady Lamanda = Carlawn
lord Alamar = Barok or Vesper

Yeah, Archibald and Roland looked totally unrelated in the Succession Wars. They seemed less estranged in the Might and Magic games.

And sorry but I don't get the who's who bit, do you mean which portrait suits which faction leader best? (EDIT: Okay, I see what you mean ;)) I also wonder what happened to Queen Lamanda. Morglin and Slayer died, Alamar became a wandering hero, but Lamanda's never heard of again.

Oh, and hmm, some of those PoL portraits have the wrong names.

Ceallach = Lord Alberon
Dainwin = Lord Kraeger
Elderian = Jarkonas VI (not sure on the number)
Mog = Ibn Fadlan

Mmm...two possibilities come to mind:

1.) She dropped the 'L' and lived under Morglin's reign with her fellow Sorceresses.
2.) She was Morglin's nameless consort.

Of course, both possibilities are pure speculation. But that's half of what makes it fun. :)

Maybe he is the Oracle...

Another question:

Who was Agar?
Was he the one that bred the Minotaurs in Castle Kriegspire?

He was a warlock who "created*" minotaurs, Agar's Monsters (immunite to magic) and also Evil Eyes. After minos escape from Castle Kriegspire he run away to his lab north from Kriegspire and become lich (and died there in MM6 ;)).
He is also present in MM1:
MM1 quest wrote:Bring the Vellum Scroll to Agar.
In the Sorpigal Dungeon an elderly man asks you for a courier service. If you accept, he will ask you to take the Vellum Scroll to the wizard Agar in Erliquin.
When you complete quest, Agar in Erliquin commands you to take the Vellum Scroll to Telgoran in Dusk.

*I suspect that he somehow enchanted this species or simple find way to artifical mix human and bull bodies into minotaurs. After all minotaurs exist before experiments in Castle Kriegspire (ex. HoMM1).

He was killed in Might and Magic VI. Let's not forget also that he was a Warlock hero before retiring to his lab. Portrait:

He was probably in Might and Magic IV or V as well (the whole recurring characters thing in Heroes I and II) but I've never played either so I can't say for sure.

Lastly, Ajit the Overlord seems to be an avid fan of his:
Heroes III wrote:Ajit studied carefully the works of Agar, the foolish wizard/scientist of Enroth who accidentally created the beholders and evil eyes which he now commands, training a 'better breed' to be used in combat.

He seems to be a character, much like Clanker. Clanker's Lab was even filled with Beholders and the like.

Well, Clanker was enchanter - he created magical weapons and sold some of them to Archibald during Sucession Wars.

Agar created living creatures - eyes, minotaurs, his flying monsters - so they chose different path of enchanting.

Replaying MM8, I recalled one thing I never really comprehended... does anybody happen to have any idea/explanation as to why the Regnan Pirates owned a contemporary submarine?

Well, the Regnan economy nearly ran soley on Metal Smithing and Arms Dealing. Regna produced the best metal-based products, and all countries bought from them. Since they were a Sea-faring people, it is not improabable to believe they would have developed submarine prototypes, especially manpowered ones.

No, Asomath. The submarine was clearly given to the Regnans by highly advanced space aliens. :D

If that was the case, I would expect it to fly and shoot laser beams :P
