MM6&7: Questions regarding skill points and learning

Unread postby morta » 19 Dec 2011, 14:54

hi

I have two questions:

In MM6 and 7, is getting master and grandmaster at the learning skill worth it ?

Also do you always get 4 skill points at each lvl, or do you get more at each level at higher levels ?

thanks

Personally never take them, but yes it is worth it. One reason is that it de synchronizes party's xp, still noone is forcing you to max levels out

Last one. You will eventually gain more SP/level

iirc it goes up 1 skill pt per 10 levels

So if you get 4pt level 1-10, you would get 5 per level 11-20.

IIRC, you get 5 points for levels 1-9, then 6 for 10-19, 7 for 20-29, and so on, and this is valid for MM6-9, i.e. for all series games where the skills may be advanced.

For all practical purposes learning isn't useful. Get level 1 which gives a 10% experience boost with no skill point investment as soon as possible. After that, I wouldn't mess with it. It can be used to boost final score or artificially inflate levels but that is it.

There is a base skill of 9 for having the skill at all.

For "x" level in learning...
For normal it is x+9
For expert it is 2x+9
For master it is 3x+9
For grandmaster it is 4x+9
Level 10 Grandmaster would be 10*4+9=49% bonus

Skill points gained for reaching for level x..
5+(x/10) discarding the decimal
Level 17 would be 5+(17/10)=6.7 which converts to 6

In MM9:
Normal Skill level – Total EP = (EP x Skill level x 10%) + EP
Expert Skill level – Total EP = (EP x Skill level x 20%) + EP
Master Skill level – Total EP = (EP x Skill level x 30%) + EP
Grandmaster Skill level – Total EP = (EP x Skill level x 50%) + EP

Liches and Mages gain enormous amount of experience:

And remember the goal of Learning is not to get more Skill Points as such, it's to get a character more Hit Points/Spell Points.
Far too many people speak their minds without first verifying the quality of their source material.

Exactly. While being advance it consumes much more skill points then produces. Another issue is high score.
