Well i'm still hoping (and ME1 was actually somewhat of a hybrid).

The Collector's Edition:

Image

4 weapons... i hope that means the selection is at least twice as large as in ME2 vanilla from the start, or that's a big chink of the over-all numbers of weapons.

And what's with the extra character... i mean i get it when it's for ppl with new copies, because that's almost everyone (but the character should be more integrated in the story, like Shale, and not feel like someone modded it in like Zaeed), but being CE exclusive... that's BS.

I don't like that they are weapons to begin with... Because that means they will be using the stupid ME2 way of managing weapons, where you have only a few generic ones and never get any treasure. And it's a dumb way for EA to hoard cash via DLC. "You don't get treasure - but WE do!"

What extra character? There is nothing about it in that picture.

Also, LOL, a pet FENRIS mech.

Look under ALSO INCLUDED, the 3rd line... DLC mission and character.

I read that as "Additional downloadable mission and character bonus avatars and more", although I guess two 'and's in one sentence doesn't make much sense... But in that case you can almost guarantee that it will have the Zaeed syndrome. Unless they also sell that as DLC for a lot of money.

Pardon my ignorance, but except for not having any real dialogue on the Normandy, what was wrong with Zaeed?

You ever played Dragon Age: Origins? The DLC character (Shale) that comes with a new game there can actually turn on you and is pretty much fully integrated in the story... by comparison Zaeed is just tacked on...

Zaeed's just a carbon copy of Mandalore/Ordo anyway. Which shouldn't be much of a surprise considering that most of ME is more or less a KotOR without SW license and shooter elements.

:?? Zaeed is about as integrated into the story as, say Thane or Grunt. And as for turning on you, you know you can actually leave him to die, don't you? That's more than you can say for any other character save one. It's not that Zaeed is a less active NPC than what you find in DA:O, it's that every member of the squad is.

Well, you can't exactly talk with Zaeed on the Normandy. He just gives you snide remarks and that's it. Also he has no recruitment mission, isn't a love interest and his room is very obviously just sitting there before you install his DLC.

No, you're just thinking of the final mission, where i agree with you that those two where as integrated as Zaeed...

But the guy has way less development through-out the rest of the game if you go talk to him... sure, he still tells you stories, but you can't really talk back to him etc.

To tell you the truth i kinda forgot that the personal missions and the talks on the Normandy was all that companions offered in ME2... B-)

And actually i also meant the lack of a recruitment mission...

I never really used the default Shepard. Which is rather interesting, because he looks like a new character to me.

I have plans to make John Shepard (modelled after John Dalton, specialisation Shock Trooper) for my playthrough on YouTube. That will take some time to get to, though.

I only used him for the soldier, because they're both boring... which is why it's the default config i guess.

For me it looks amazing, enormous and not at least promising.
its this kinda game I in fact have longed for so long. RPG spiced with top-notch action and free roaming in our very own galaxy, the Milkyway!
its to good to be true, I mean, you can visit any place of the galaxy and not only the mission based planets and moons, there are a pletora of uncharted worlds for us to find :D

The graphic is lovely! I just hope there wont be any slowdowns.

Talking about kicking ass in outer space! Mass Effect is the best example IMHO as a Milkyway answer on the GalaxyFarFarAway galaxy, the galaxy where Star Wars is set. ME will be just as huge as KOTOR, no doubt!

Epic Video from You Tube

...and theres always wikipedia

Im alredy consumed by this game, only drawback..its not coming to any other console or pc at all as far as I know, its an xbox 360 exclusive trilogy. For the last of the 360's years.
Ahh...then I shall give this one a try. And then the ME 2. I was hoping to play Crysis (and 2) and Fallout, although it seems Fallout goes further still. Also, to break the tension, Shogun 2 might do. These are the games for PC I'm intending to play. I hope they are good enough.
