Heroes VI Release Date Confirmed

Unread postby Angelspit » 18 Mar 2011, 18:18

Forum Manager ms-kleaneasy confirmed the release date of Might and Magic: Heroes VI. Here are the details:

US - 21st June

Europe - 23rd June

UK - 24th June

It seems that Amazon and other retailers were wrong about that one. The funny thing is that, this time, it's Ubisoft who's telling the fans to wait a little more, and not the other way around...

Date sounds good to me. Nothing unexpected. :D

I really don't get the reasoning behind regional delays.

So what do these dates actually mean. UBI has supposedly said NA will not get the boxed collector's edition, so is that the date of the online download if so do the regional delays mean anything. If not then when can you download. If these are the dates of the boxes being shipped, who cares if it isn't the collector's edition if that is what you wanted. I am angered/disappointed as NA gets continually snubbed, and I certainly understand if the other regions are not happy about this type sequential delay.

I AM NOT EXCITED. Ubi never finished polishing H5, so where does anyone get the idea that H6 will be fully patched? Most fans will have 50/50 odds that Ubi will ever add enough patches, anyhow. Can anyone see, the other factions will be added in the expansion packs like last time?

They are releasing the game too early. Looks like another marketing strategy that Ubi did with H5. I would warn consumers to wait after all the expansion packs are over with before buying H6.

Or, take the risk and pre-order. Remember not to feed the Ubi-Beast! What about the free beta? This reminds me of all the nonsense over H4 before it was released. Let's hope for a 7/10 overall rating.

@astral76minor
And that was very negative. H6 is not H5 and I highly doubt that they will be sharing even remotely similar fate.

For the timing is in favour of H6, because, it's in fact shorter. Add better leadership, better development, better cooperation with fans and much clearer idea what they want to achieve with the game.

In a way it's similar to comparsion of Vista and Windows 7. Whereas Vista were good but Windows 7 were the promised ones.

So, I wasn't excited for Heroes5 but I'm for Heroes6. Time will tell, because:"Speed is life, life is speed." & H5 were not about this.

PS And I think that classic 85% and more will do it. ;)

Weird. Steam said it was unlocking the game on May 24th. Or is that the beta? It'd be weird that the game releases so soon after the beginning of a beta... lol

@Pol

Remain cautiously optimistic until they release 64-bit code... or hope that the old H5 game engine is forgone.

How about that beta? And if people like the beta... then....

Makes more sense this way.

I expect nothing less that they buried it ten feet under ground and it will never spot a day light. :D

Cautiously optimistic, that's my only attitude, yea. ^

They kinda got us ringed in & we'll probably spend $150 for the whole series. Bring on that beta!

Great to see a firm date for release, but I learned my lesson after HOMM5. Horrible game engine, slow turn times, and bad AI killed any sense of immersion.

This time I'll wait to see what actual users not reviewers have to say about the game before buying it.

Probably more, if there will be two expansions. :D

I will review the beta when I get a chance to lay my hands on. And explore it thoroughly inside and out. That may be in May, in the end of it.
