Question about different TCC versions

The role-playing games (I-X) that started it all and the various spin-offs (including Dark Messiah).

Question about different TCC versions

Unread postby unknownone » 10 Mar 2011, 16:12

Hi all, I've downloaded yesterday the TCC mod from http://www.mediafire.com/BDJs for MM6 and I've installed it. It works fine until now on windows 7.
I've found another version here http://www.mmgames.ru/index.php?option= ... 90&lang=en with some files that have different size, especially in part1 Anims2.vid (in BDJ version it's 400mb and here it's 222mb).
Which one of this packs is the right and latest version? What's the difference between them?
Thank you very much for the help!
I've played and enjoyed many RPGs:
MM6,MM7,MM8,MM9, Fallout 1&2, Planescape Torment, Torment: ToN, TES3, TES4

Can't help you with Windows 7 issues, but the **only** complete and official set of files is at mediafire and its mirrors.

I knew that, so they should be the same since you worked together on the mod, but are not... 8|

Yes we worked together, but Vlad continued to mod it after the project was declared done by BDJ. So it is possible the files on his site have some of his modifications included only he would know for sure.

Vladimir-Maestro, if you have time, can you explain what's different in the TCC version you host on your site?

Mine explanations:

1) mmgames - not mine personal site but site about modding "might and magic" and "heroes". we wanted to collect any kind of information about mods, tools and tutorials...but we do not have much time to create articles for web :(

2)No! I've didn't done anything with modding TCC in any ways! I didn't change anything - i've just repacked LOD archives and optimized them. When we created TCC there was no such possibility so many inmorted files goes wrong with it's real size (such as videos - in fact they are about 50mb but after importing they grew up to 200mb, some files got negative size etc). So TCC was relised in that case.

in a while Grayface relised his "MMArchive" that got special function - that allow to rebuild MM archives and optimize them - this tool fixed all wrong files and their real sizes and bring archives to what they should be.

So MMG-site version of TCC is the same but optimezed and got less size.

only the size, resourced were optimized, no changes or moddifications were done, it's pure TCC.

P.S.
I've resived some e-mail about TCC part 2 - many people cannot install it. all conditions are done but installer do not allow installation of part 2. I guess that BDJ has coded a specific game version and some localizations cannot install part 2? any ideas?
